He is 12 lbs, not over weight and was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I stared feeding him this food along with canned chicken mix to get a higher protein based food. He didn't seem to be getting enough to eat even though I was feeding him both sections 2 times a day along with the Swansen's Canned Chicken. He was also scratching a lot. I thought he had developed allergies along with the diabetes....which the Veterinarian confirmed. BUT, After two months I switched from this food to a food for diabetic cats. He didn't like it at first so I again mixed the canned chicken with it to give him the flavor he really likes and he started feeling much better and his itching stopped. Even though this food is grain free, there was something in it that made him itch. My cat now eats less, is feeling content and happy. So if your cat is diabetic, this food may not be the way to go. Plus it is a little pricey for all the more you get. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than the regular Nutro for a spoiled cat *by L***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2018* I buy my cat food and send it to my mom who watches him and I got this text from her about my cats reaction to the change in food: “You should have seen the ugly scene. I let Dizzy try a pack of the new food yesterday. This morning I gave him the old stuff. He has so mad. His ears were down yelling at me. I tried to pet him and his ripped his head away all pissed.”Dizzy had been eating only the turkey pate nutro for some years now bc he won’t eat anything else but he eats like 4-5 packs a day! He’s an outdoor active cat about 15 years old. We try to give him the best food we can afford bc of his age and he’s a bit sickly. I decided to try this higer protien nutro to see if it keeps him fuller so he doesn’t eat so much food and cost me less in the long run. Apparently this is heartier than the regular nutro and takes him longer to eat (so more than 5 seconds). And he seems to prefer the taste to the old stuff (regular turkey pate nutro). He’s so spoiled I guess this will be the new go to food. Hopefully he eats less so the price balances out bc this is an extra $10 a pack and he eats 2.5 packs a month so it adds up fast! ### ⭐⭐ Not good *by W***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2019* First of all, this stuff smells AWFUL! We had to take the empty containers to the outside trash right away. The cats did not like it, and one got an allergic reaction complete with hair loss.
