The pro3 is fast, super accurate, and handles outdoor scans like a champ. Something you wouldn't be able to get with older cameras or phone setups. The extra batteries and backpack make it easy to stay mobile throughout the day, and the quality of the scans instantly makes my work look more professional. Expensive? Yeah. Worth it? Absolutely.

Fantastic price of equipment but the subscription plans are very expensive, copyright to matterport, you need to check all in the fine print. Your customers spaces are not theirs or yours as a Matterport Service Partner. (MSP) The early packages were 100 spaces for around 500.00 then the more MSP’s supported matterport then they were stabbed in the back with over inflated subscription packages. I have been using the Pro 2 for three years now. I scan big buildings (10K to 60K SqFt). I bought the Pro 3 one month ago and It is really a great improvement. Much faster and more accurate. The fact that you can scan the exteriors is awesome. The design is pretty nice. I don't like that it has a little lid to cover the lens because when you take it off, it does not stick to the camera so it is easy to lose. Also, the cover should have space to put the battery so you can store the camera without the battery on (as recommended by Matterport). But those are just some minor design suggestions. I will keep trying it and update if I found any downsides, but so far a love it.

For six grand you think the picture quality would be better. Matterport insists on keeping a hold of the images so you can't edit them, not sure what they do for post-processing but it doesn't seem like much of anything. You think we're such a expensive camera the quality would be better

Upgrading from insta360x3! You are paying for the LiDAR not the camera as the image quality is still not there compared to a DSLR. There are stitching errors with close objects. Vibration noise between the camera and the mount when the camera turns to take its 3rd and 4th shot. Noise vary as you adjust the mount screw. I wish if Matterport find a better mount system. Anyway had to get this as clients requested. Otherwise X3 or X5 from insta360 do just fine.
