I was unsure if I would like the switch being on the cord vs the lamp, but I can tell you, especially for a bedside lamp this works well. I move the cord to the side of the table and can just roll over and turn it on or off. (My tissue box and my clock sit in front of the clear cord so you don’t really see it). It arrived missing the part that attaches the shade to the base. It is designed in such a way that you cannot just interchange one from another lamp. Apparently amazon cannot get me the part either so I have to return via UPS and wait weeks for a refund. Was not able to reach anyone at Nourison customer service. VERY disappointing! Would not recommend just based on the chance you may or may not receive all of the parts you need for assembly. It will be a hassle to return.
