I found out they have to have scientific research behind them to back that they work. These have that. The bugs have to NOT be able to bite through. Also the zipper is highly important as well. These have a patent on the zipper. They actually have a zip tie to keep them from accidentally coming from unzipped. Now that's peace of mind if you ask me! Everything I read pointed to this specific brand, so I felt confident in buying these. They were easy to put on. They are very quiet to sleep on. We didn't notice they were even on the mattress. We have them on our pillows as well. They didn't seem to make us sleep any hotter than usual, and that was important. We sleep very hot and prefer to sleep as cool as possible. We just went through a heat treatment to kill off the bed bugs and put these in place. It has been two nights now that we have had them on and four days, and we have not noticed anything. I guess the heat has indeed worked. I hope we got these just for peace of mind.
