Simple “set it and forget it” watering that actually helps
I bought this to make watering more consistent without constantly guessing when my plants are thirsty, and it does exactly that. Once it’s set up, the plant can take what it needs, and my soil stays more evenly moist instead of swinging between dry and drenched. What I like: - Helps smooth out watering, especially if you forget a day or two - Easy to use once it’s in the soil - Nice, clean look that doesn’t feel like plastic hardware sticking out of a pot Good to know: - It works best when it’s buried securely so it doesn’t wobble - You still need to match it to the pot size and the plant’s thirst level (small pots or heavy drinkers may need refills more often) - If your soil is super compacted, loosening it a bit can help the water distribute more naturally If you want lower-maintenance, more consistent watering, this is a great little upgrade.

It really works
I decided to purchase because my sprinklers went out in my garden. I tend to forget to water and thought, why not. I decided to put this next to my summer squash, one by my cucumbers and one in my peppermint pot. We'll during the summer everything still thrived as in addition when I watered, I would fill these up. The peppermint did ok, but I think it's because of the heat and not because of this. I decided to purchase another set and prep my garden again with these. You can't see it sticking out so looks hidden in the garden and hasn't broken, so it's nice and thick. I do like how much water it holds. As for the installation, it was easy. Just dig a hole and keep the top part a bit above, so no dirt or soil goes in and it's done. Then fill it up with water. Works great

Working great!
I'm using these in large pots for my tomato plants. Working great! I fill them with water every 2-3 days and don't worry I over/under watering them. I don't see going a week at a time between waterings like I read (somewhere). Very handy and worth the investment.

Water the roots
Well made and just the right size to place in my planter. They cover 18 inches in all directions. I fill them twice a week. Great to keep plants fed when I'm away. Water goes straight to the roots and no water is lost due to evaporation. I would buy again.

Not Sure If These Will Help My Situation …
I got these because they were recommended by gardeners and it’s a chore to keep my 16 greenhouse beds watered. They do seem to hold a bit of water but the leech much quicker than I thought, a couple of days. And, yes, I heavily watered my beds in stages over March and April. We shall see as the plants grow. The cucumbers are doing much better than in years past. Not larger at this point but they look much stronger for such young plants. These were easy to dig in but that’s in raised beds. They’re very attractive and the stoppers work well.

Plant life-saving watering pots
These are worth the cost. The self-watering terracotta pots are life-savers for my citrus trees in the winter when I move them to the dry inside area. Game-changer for anyone who works long days and weeks while trying to keep potted plants alive. Also useful in garden beds when placed near plants.

If you grow produce in containers you NEED this!
I LOVE anything ‘back to the roots’ brand and this olla (oya) pot is by far my favorite. It takes porch container gardening to the next level, especially during the heat of summer!! They are made of terracotta, excellent quality, durability, and this being my second pot I can say that these are so easy to use and very discreet, burried in the middle of your pot. I have included a photo of my other olla pot that is already being used. I just buried it in the soil when I planted my strawberries and it was a total game changer!! I have never had such HUGE strawberry leaves, and the flowered/fruited like crazy!! This was just 4 plants. I think the first photo you ca. barely see the top of the olla pot, burried in the center. Side note-because I have a large creek that leads to a lake on my land I try to be cautious of chemicals. This year I did a double planter. So if you think you see mint leave your aren’t wrong! The strawberry pot was sat in/on the mint and it was planted along the edges of the bigger pot. This was my first time trying this and it worked so well as a pesticide, highly recommend!!

15y of gardening, heres what I found
Ive been gardening for a very long time now and have used these for 2 years. Heres what I found. 1.They work wonders in large pots. I have to use terracotta pots due to my location. Also for overheating and overwatering prevention. 2. Their radius in large beds is smaller than you would think. 6 inches seems to be the effective radius. Inch 5 and 6 are not as effective until the plant's roots expand. I have seen it help plants a little over 1 ft out... but not very well and for more mature plants. Whereas with spikes have a radius of maybe 3 inches at best. 3. They will drain half the bottle into the soil no matter what. I fill in house pots half way. Im fairly certain it deals with the weight/pressure forcing the water out. 4. These are excellent options for gardening. If you live in a desert then you still need to be diligent. In a square foot method it does relatively fine in the middle of a 4x4. Lastly: Dont use them during the winter and always have some kind of lid. Too much water in the pours and freezing results in a broken container. You see this with terracotta pots as well. The ice expands and essentially pushes it apart. *No cap means mosquitoes.

Great tool for metering water to herbs and flowers.
Used these to keep my herb and flower gardens irrigated when away for 3-5 days. The plants closest to the pots did great and could tell the difference the further away the plants were from the pots got extras this year so I could space them about 2 feet from eachother.
