Review: Better than expected - don't hesitate - My old sink mat had become discolored so I've been looking for a new one for a while now. I didn't find it easy to find a square mat that looked nice and was as I wanted. I ended up deciding on this mat because I do really like everything I own from OXO Good Grips - though my other items are spoon etc. This also had good reviews. I have no regrets on this purchase. The mat is better than I expected and looks good too. I didn't think I wanted those larger spaces in the mat but actually I find them really handy for propping up dishes that have been hand washed; my previous mat had small holes in the bottom but things would often slide down when propped up. The grey color ends up just looking neutral in my white sink and I don't think it will show stains so easily as my old one. There are small 'feet' on the bottom side to keep the mat off the surface and allow air flow. Nothing is scratchy so it's completely safe in my granite sink yet it stays where I place it well. This has no odor even right out of the box. It feels thick and strong. Due to the quality I feel it is a good value for the price. I can recommend this mat and will purchase again next time.

A: Very sturdy ..yes...But I wouldn't run it threw the heated drying though just to be safe!

**Q: Is this mat safe to use in a refinished cast iron / porcelain sink?**
A: It works great in our porcelain kitchen sink. There are no metal parts that would scratch anything, and the bottom of the mat is covered with rows of round, rubber "feet". It's the best sink mat I've ever found. I use it on one side of our double sink.

**Q: Will it hold the weight of a dishpan with water and items to be hand washed?**
A: The feet on the bottom are interspersed throughout and should hold a dishpan full of dishes and water with no problem.
