Easy to use, may want an extra battery.
The assembly was pretty easy. I charged the battery the night before. I used it the next day on grass that wasn't too tall, so the battery lasted the whole yard. If you let the grass get taller, then the turbo mode kicks in. If your yard is bigger than usual or you let the grass get taller, you will probably want an extra battery unless you wait for the one that comes with it to recharge. It is self-propelled, and you can adjust the speed. If you disengage the self-propelled feature, it takes a few seconds to disengage. It rolls very easily if you decide to push it yourself. Probably the thing I liked least is that if you use the discharge shute, it is easy to knock off when you bump into something.

"A man's got to know his limitations." - Excellent mower!
When Dirty Harry says "A man's got to know his limitations." that's true for this mower. If you're a dingbat who doesn't mow their lawn for weeks on end until the grass is so high a gas mower craps out every three feet, then this mower isn't for you. In fact a gas mower isn't for you, just hire someone and get it done. Alternatively you could wait until a You-tuber who does sympathy mows for neglected yards shows up at your door and offers to clean up your hovel. The mower is easy to use and requires very little maintenance. I have a 15 year old son who would rather be a goldbrick than mow when needed. I bought a couple of extra aftermarket batteries for him when he slacks and waits until the grass is so high we're about to be justifiably pestered by the HOA. I personally like the mower. It's very quiet, cuts well, and easy to maneuver. Battery capacity could be greater, but it's fine for a typical lawn that is mowed weekly. The self propel feature works great. You can collect the clippings, side discharge, or mulch. I always mulch. The only maintenance I anticipate is sharpening/changing the blade and keeping the mower clean. I bought it on sale and I think it was good value for money. Highly reccomended.

10,000 sf yard uses at least two charges to complete.
It will work for a medium size yard with a little care. It is better for a small yard. I found that I have to have the blade set at medium so as not to challenge the motor/battery on long grass. The battery at 40v runs out pretty quickly and even faster for long grass. I did 3/4ths of my yard today and still need to finish the rest tomorrow. It cuts nicely but runs out of juice too quickly. I was hoping to do the whole yard with one charge but I need three charges to complete. My strategy going forward is to mow half the yard. Put the spent battery on the charger and work on something else for 2 hours. Then go out and hope to finish the other half. Assembly: Assembly was pretty straight forward and simple but the handle was a bit of a challenge because the side that has the power lines attached would not fit into the opening. I had to use the bolt to pull the sides together in order to get it to fit into place. Once that was inserted I removed the bolt, pushed the handle fully into place and then inserted the bolt and tightened where it needed to go. The right side went in without any trouble. Battery: The battery came with only a very low charge. So be sure to charge the battery first. Upon my first mow I had the mower set pretty low and it was being strained more than I realized. The mower shut off and the battery overheated. I was concerned that this would not hold up for me. The charger lights up red if the battery is too warm for charging. So I had to let the battery sit for 45 minutes. It then lit up "flashing green" and started charging. On my next mow I set the mower higher so as not to tax the battery as much. This really helped a lot and I was able to mow a good section of lawn before the battery was exhausted. The mower is lightweight enough that for some of the lawn I didn't need to use the propulsion. The back wheels tend to stay engaged and not roll smoothly after using the propulsion. I overcome this by letting off of the propulsion and pushing forward a little and this sets the wheels free so that when I pull back they roll back smoothly. update1: I love it. It is now three months later and it is pretty wonderful. I just had to get used to how to mow with an electric and be prepared to recharge the battery. Now that I have mowed the lawn a few times I wish I had purchased an electric mower years ago. My lot is 10,000 sf and I do have to charge about 2.3 charges to complete. I just plan ahead. Mow, charge, go back and finish as much as possible. Next day I wrap it up and leave the partial charge for the next time I have to mow. If the battery holds up for a long time it is excellent. I make sure I run the battery completely down and then recharge completely. It is great to be able to just go an mow at the push of a button. No fuel needed, no oil changes. Quieter by far and cuts great. I let go of the propulsion a few feet from the end of the row and that releases the propulsion engagement and it rolls freely. It is so light weight that I could mow the entire yard without any propulsion. If you need more power buy the 80 volt. I have a gas mower that needs repair and now I don't even need it. Update 2: I love this mower now. It held up well all year. I mowed 17 times this year with this machine. I plan on purchasing a second battery so I can finish the yard and not have to wait for a recharge. I plan on buying more electric powered machines because of how well this machine worked for me.

Battery comes out while mowing.
The mower cuts great and easy to operate. The problem is the battery slot. It is next to impossible to get get the battery to stay in. The battery bounces out and the mower cuts off. When I finally get it to engage then it is very difficult to get the battery out. It's a major pain and won't buy anything Greenworks again.

A MUST, excellent mower, very impressed & satisfied.
This is the easiest & quietest lawn mower I have ever used. I am used to the bulky, heavy, loud, pushing hard constantly, gas mowers. This mower is easy to use, you barely push it & we haven't even tried the self propelled part of the mower yet, so I believe I am going to end up being MORE impressed & liking this little mower even more, IF that is even possible. I have used it once & my son has used it twice. I mowed our entire front yard, back yard, sides, complete area across our driveway & halfway down our hill on 1 charge!!! When my son mowed down our hill, the grass was very tall & this was the first mowing of the season, so it was thick & bulky. This mower took care of all of it. Yes, you can hear the sound of the mower change in the thickest & highest grass, but if you just slow down & allow the mower to get the bulk cut down, it keeps pressing on. The mower has only bogged down & turned off 1 time & that was in the thickest part of the grass. I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED!!! The instructions are easy to understand. This mower is very sturdy too. I just can't believe it has mowed what it has mowed. This mower is so very quiet, it sounds like a large fan running. This is our first battery powered mower & we love it. I never thought mowing could be so easy. Charging the battery did take about 2 hours, but it was completely dead. We also left the mulching plug in the mower & the grass was cut up so fine, that you couldn't tell the yard was mowed. Grass wasn't laying everywhere to rake up or blow off the yard, we haven't attached the bag yet to catch grass either, the mulching was so good, we didn't need it. I could brag on this mower all day. Excellent job & product Greenworks, thank you for making our lives easier. You HAVE to get this mower. It is awesome. I am very satisfied & impressed. I wish I had taken before & after photos, you wouldn't believe the tall, bulky grass this little mower took care of.

The battery life is total garbage.
The battery life is abysmal. It can barely handle 30 minutes of mowing, and by the time the battery is getting depleted it’ll start shutting itself off on even slightly dense grass. Ridiculous that the mower has a 40V battery and the weed eater has a 60V. It’s like they’re counting on you dropping another $60 after the fact for a second battery because they know the one will never cut it— pun intended.

Battery Faulty - Great Otherwise
The battery that came with my unit seems to be faulty. I can't find a customer service number anywhere on Amazon for the company. Thankfully I ordered a second battery so I could hot swap them since I figured one wouldn't be enough for my yard. Well guess what, it isn't enough! So right now I am having to go as far as I can and then charge the battery that works while I wait. Waste of time. As far as the mower itself is concerned. No issues! It works great and is super easy to operate.

Power mower, no gas
Ease to use, exactly as described, minimal assembly with just a screwdriver. Fully charge battery before first use and just follow instructions. It was my first time mowing by myself and it makes it all look easy. The low speed is moving pretty fast so I imagine use higher speed for up the hill areas, otherwise you'll chase your mower. Overall I recommend it. Gas free
