Captivating, compelling second chance, enemies to friends to lovers and so much more!
Georgia and Rhodes stole my heart and ran away with it. Better Than Most by Jennifer Millikin is a fantastic romance for so many reasons and I could just gush for paragraph after paragraph. These characters are wholly developed with so much emotional depth and their story is steeped with regrets and guilt, not to mention a plethora of anger. The conflict Georgia and Rhodes experiences as they interact with one another, a forced proximity sort of thing, brings a lot of things to the surface. It's uncomfortable, but also cathartic. Speaking of characters, Jake is endearingly oblivious and it was kinda funny when the past is revealed. And if you are a fan of Jennifer Millikin and read the Hayden Family series, you will LOVE the cameo appearances throughout. I sure did!As a fan of this author would expect, the plot is multilayered and the past has more than one earth shaking revelations. At the center of it all is Rhodes and Georgia of course. Their conflict over the past is real and palpable, Georgia's hurt is beyond compare and as raw as it was when Rhodes left. Despite all the conflict, the interactions between Georgia and Rhodes is often quite entertaining. Once Georgia gets past her mad, a truce is called and guards begin to weaken, walls begin to crumble, like begins to evolve into love because their hearts never stopped yearning or beating for each other.I love a second chance romance and Better Than Most is absolutely no exception. In my opinion, it is an absolute must read! This book is very special to me for personal reasons, but aside from that, it is just an exceptionally well written love story that will stay with me for a very long time. You really don't want to miss this one.I read an ARC of this book via Valentine Promotions and am voluntarily sharing my review.

Very good book
This one was good, but not as good as the first one. (It is #2 in a series). I liked the characters, but there was something off putting about the story line. I find it hard to believe that an 18 yr old boy that is head over heels in love with his girlfriend would just leave her because he decides he isn’t good enough for her based on one action that he didn’t even want to do. It is just lame. Then for the to spend 11 YEARS apart is just ridiculous. It took way too long for him to come to his senses. Her other books are much better.

This was kinda a lot, but also not?
Overall this story was cute, and mostly low stakes but it really fell flat for me. While dealing with heavy topics (parental addiction following a work injury), the romance/second change part took so long to develop. At first I thought maybe the slow development would turn into great slow burn fodder, but that wasn't it. There was lots of telling instead of showing, Georgia and Rhodes barely interacted during the first 40% of the book. There was some flashbacks but they didn't really provide much until after the 50% mark.I did really like how open Rhodes was with Georgia once he realized she didn't hate him. Her ex showing up felt like a useless plot device, the actions it spurred afterward could've happened anyway without him. I really liked the side characters. This is my first time reading from this author and I can tell some of the side characters are likely in her other books. I may go back and check some of those out.The communication and boundaries between Rhodes and Georgia in the later part of the story was excellent. I also really appreciated that her brother's involvement in their relationship wasn't a hinderance in a way that's normally expected from a second chance romance, it was definitely a pleasant surprise.

Hard to put down!
This is my first book by Jennifer Millikin and it won’t be my last. I was instantly hooked and fell in love with the characters. Georgia and Rhodes journey was a bumpy one for sure but they were able to make it over the bumps. The biggest bump was dealing with something that happened around the time they broke up before Georgia went to college. After having time to think about things and get clarification they were both able to get over the bump and keep going towards their HEART. I loved their journey and will definitely be reading more of her books.

Amazing
Better Than Most is an amazing read. If you love those brothers best friends romances then you will love this one. Georgia and Rhodes have amazing chemistry and have kept their past hidden the best they can. Thrown together now both are back living in their hometown sparks fly. I love how the walls fall as they take a leap on a second chance. I love how Rhodes steps up and helps Georgia as she works for her goal. I love Georgia and Rhodes so much. You need to meet them today.

Better Than Most by Jennifer Millikin,
I was waiting for these two since the ending of Jakes book. I mean how couldn’t I want to know what happened with these two. I loved that there was a friendship there and I think loosing it along with knowing they shouldn’t be together was the most painful for both of them. For Georgia it was super painful to first loose her dad and then have Rhodes just to loose him in a way too. I absolutely loved that what brings them together both times was dance. I loved their journey and highly recommend.
