Not the original ending!!
I was initially pleased with the book, a nice facsimile of the original. But this mad pc world apparently extends to fairy stories now too! The original ending has been changed, he no longer tears himself in two! I loved the gruesome ending as a child. People need to toughen up, seriously 🙄

It is a 2015 reprint of the original book. Hence it was brand new. Thanks for helping me get one of my favourite childhood books again!

I had a copy of this book when I was a child. It was my mums so would have been from the 1950s/60s. Seeing this for sale, I had to get a copy and it is an exact replica of that book. It was just like how I remember it. I wish they reprinted far more books like this in their original glory.
