Review: Amazing color - I originally tried to get my hair highlighted blue at the Aveda salon, but the first time it turned out a mix of green, blue, and yellow. I went back to ask them to fix it and came back with pale purple hair which faded to ashy blonde after just a few days. At this point, I was pretty annoyed so I decided to try dying it myself. After looking at multiple reviews online, I finally settled on this one. The color ended up being exactly what I wanted. I have black hair and it blended nicely with the rest of my hair. (The parts that were dyed had been bleached at the salon so it showed up.) It didn't stain nearly as badly as the other reviews say. I did it in the sink and it washed off right away. I did end up staining the shower a bit, and the dye comes out a bit when you wash your hair with shampoo for a few weeks. The water ran blue for a while. I found that it lasted a week or so before starting to fade slightly. My highlights faded at different rates so now I have pieces of hair that are purple, gray, light blue, green, and aqua. It's pretty cool. I also used sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to maintain the color. I would definitely recommend this but you should know that it will probably fade after a few weeks. The dark color didn't stay in my experience.
Review: Punky Midnight Blue - Incredibly Bad Hair Dye, extreme home damage - I've been coloring my hair for years and have application brushes, gloves, a dye bowl. Additionally I keep everything handy for clean up and am very careful. My usual hair color was out of stock on desertcart which is a dark blue / black semi-permanent. I thought this might be a good bridge until it came back in stock and maybe the blue would be fun. First off - Pro's: There was enough product for my hair. It was inexpensive. It arrived quickly. No mixing required. Claims to be gentle on hair and not tested on animals. It didn't seem to dry out or hurt my hair, which is good. It said it dyed easily and that's true. It took to everything it touched and colored it blue. Cons: This particular pigment, Midnight Blue, stains immediately anything it comes in contact with and is almost impossible to remove. Despite two pairs of gloves and rinsing my hair for ten minutes + and using soap and conditioner, as soon as I touched my hair after washing with my bare hands they turned Smurf blue. I rinsed some more. I washed my hands with dish soap, and tried fingernail remover -- but it's days later and my nails are still blue and my hands are blue tinged still. (I painted over my blue fingernails and the blue dye leached through... amazing) Even a single strand of hair that would fall out would stain anything it touched. My kitchen sink that I rinsed my hair in was an unholy, unfathomable mess. It still has blue stains after I bleached it (and let the bleach sit). I realized anything I came in contact with was turning blue, despite having thoroughly rinsed my hair. I jumped in the shower for nearly an hour and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed my hair with various soaps, conditioners, oils -- I tried a bunch of stuff to remove the blue. **Q: What conditioner do i need to mix with this hair dye ?**
A: I mix with any white paraben free sulfate free conditioner. I mix 1:1 and there is no change in the vibrancy & boldness of the color or how long the color lasts. I was worried it would lighten the color but it doesn't on a 1:1 mix. I also don't bleach the medium brown hair my daughter's have prior to dying it and the colors are amazing. We've used flamingo pink, red rose, plum, purple, blue, aqua & green. All have turned out far better than I imagined and lasted way longer than I imagined they would.

**Q: How long does it last, days wise?**
A: It depends on the color and how often you wash your hair.
In my own experience the dark blues stay the longest theyll fade to a pastel blue around 20ish washes and stay that way, the purples do the same around 15ish washes and bright pink/turquoise fade between 15-20 washes but with those two ive noticed sometimes they hang on forever and sometimes they fade fast depending on the color you put them on top of, if your hairs been freshly bleached and your putting it on a really light blonde they stay much longer (the same goes for all the colors) but unlike the other colors if your just doing a touch up and adding it over your old color it fades much faster.
All of the lighter colors lagoon blue and the light pink fade fast, maybe 10-15 washes and they fade to a sortof ashy pastel version of the color.
I will say though ive been using punky color for about a decade and its my favorite dye because unlike most dyes (manicpanic for example) it doesnt fade into gross coppers or greens, it just slowely gets lighter with every wash. Which is nice because it starts really vibrant and pretty but eventually will fade to an equally pretty soft pastel so its like getting a dozen colors for the price of one lol and of all the other dyes ive tried this one lasts longest, smells nicest, and doesnt damage my hair (the bleach does though unfortunately haha)

A: It says it is vegan in both the product listing and in the product description.

**Q: I was just wondering if this would do any good on hair that has been bleached twice so it has a copperish color in it still im going for the platinum**
A: It will certainly condition it a bit, give it a bit of a gloss... but it's not going to be able to lighten a copper color into platinum. It's not going to strip any color out at all, what it does is give you a very sheer coat of grayish-purple, just right for dulling down a bright bleached blond into a silvery platinum, but I think you're going to have to strip the remaining color out with bleach. Make sure you bleach it long enough to lighten it past that baby chicken yellow stage if you really want platinum. If you've already bleached twice and are still seeing copper you may want to get some help from a stylist to achieve platinum without burning your hair into breakage. If you are determined to do it again on your own, I will tell you that I have very dark hair myself and have had tremendous success with a boxed bleach called "Born Blonde", you really just need to leave it on past that baby chicken yellow stage, and then use the toner.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful, rich shade for a pop of color

I had been debating dying the ends of my hair a bright color for over a year, but couldn't get up the courage to do it (FYI - I'm long since out of high school and worried I'd look ridiculous at my age). After reading a bunch of reviews, I went with this dye, thinking if it was terrible, I could always cut the ends off. To my surprise, I loved it even more than I thought! I put the color on right over my dyed-medium auburn hair (no bleach first) several inches up from the bottom, but left it on for about an hour (the package recommends 15-30 minutes) to get better saturation. The color turned out rich and gorgeous, far from the angsty teenager I was afraid I might look like. I was concerned about how quickly it would wash out, but it faded subtly and turned a nice shade of almost green-blue over the next couple weeks. I had to do my all-over color again, so it striped out most of the blue, after which I re-colored the tips. Perhaps because the second time I was dying over recently colored hair, but I found the color kept washing out (LOADS of blue in the shower & stained tiles!) much more than the first time around. In addition to the great color and staying power, I was incredibly impressed with the smell (like child's grape cough medicine) and how well it left the condition of my hair - if anything, I think my split ends are in even better shape! All in all, I'm very happy with this product. It's been so much fun, I may try some other colors out at some point. And at this price - why not?!
