Delivered next day, June 12 2025. Product: 7x5 (?) chocolate brown leather journal with metal clasp and ragged edges paper. - Packing was minimally secure (in the soft, thinest version of Amazon plastic bags) - Journal itself in a clear plastic bag with no receipt, care instructions, catalogue with other items that one could buy, or tools that are recommended (pencil? Fountain pen? Watercolor? Other?) Adding these would increase sales! - Also, no specifications about quality/weight of paper (Acid free? Cotton? Rice?), paper size, number of pages. - One color card inside with a short curtesy message and picture of an artisan at work. THE JOURNAL: As most positive reviews describe, great product. - Strong leather smell (no chemicals). - Pages have a texture as if made of cotton. Cheaper models from same maker come with smooth paper, smooth ages, less aged look. - Antiqued/yellowed paper but not bright orange or weird shade. Looks like aged paper. - Paper has irregular borders adding to the old look. - Each page is different (hand made) and every now and then the mark of the clip that hung them up to dry is visible, adding to the effect. - Not excessive wrinkling or imperfections that may hinder journaling or painting, and no bugs or mold. - Each notebook comes with a dry pack to keep it from molding. - The two I ordered in same chocolate brown color are within the dark brown expected, yet different from each other. Neither had a flat homogeneous, fake or over-processed leather look. The leather feels great outside and inside. - Pages are well sewn - Hardware is aged bronze color, OK quality. Personally I don’t care for the metal closure and would’ve preferred the same rugged edges notebook just with a long strap to wrap around, but I’ll take it because the whole journal is absolutely beautiful. Since this is a gift, I will write on an insert the description from Amazon about acid free, handmade, weight, type of leather and care. Again, it would be nice if instead of the current one, the company would show their pride in their craftsmanship by describing, in a card the same size, type if leather and treatment details (for those with allergies or other health issues), correct care, type of paper, recommended pens, paints, glues, other models and sizes available. All and all a great product, well made and beautiful to hold or watch.

I was honestly impressed when I received this journal. The leather looks very elegant and the pages have a nice vintage style. It feels sturdy and well made. The size is perfect for writing daily notes or creative ideas. It also looks amazing on a desk or shelf. Definitely worth the price!

I like to journal and write odds and ends (stories, poems, ancestry tidbits) in exotic journals so I ordered this journal in green, which is my favorite color. My grandchildren are enthralled with it too. They asked me to get them each one for the next holiday! So funny. But I like it too - it feels luxurious. You can see the quality of the materials at a glance. I may get some more for me, too.

This is a really nice quality journal, nice & thick with beautiful oversized pages. Well made.Would purchase again. Also has a minimal smell unlike other leather journals I purchased. I also like the quality of the latch and the coloring of the leather. No disappointments with this one! Recommend.

I don't do journal writing like I used to since my hands are really bad. I bought this because I've always wanted a homemade journal. This journal is awesome. The pages feel pretty thick and the journal came with a card inside showing who created the journal. Great work. I love it. I will probably use this journal for doodles or maybe a collage journal. Either way, it will be used and loved.

I would give it more stars except that when open the locket part hangs down heavily it clinks on table and hangs awkwardly. Looked nice when closed but not when open writing in it. I like the hand dyed pages and the feel of the pages and the cover. It's a quality book definitely worked on by an artisan and in this day and age there aren't many bookbinding places left so this was well done. I wish I could mark it higher but that one issue frustrated me. I ended up returning it because of the clunkiness of the locket part.

I have been looking at journals like these for about a year now just yearning to get my hands on it, but I wanted it to be made out of real leather. This one reminds me of those leather shops I visit on vacation in the mountains. Smells just like my travel journal I picked up then. This is definitely handcrafted and it's handcrafted in India. A piece of India in my hands. It's also a great value buy since most leather items can run on the pricey side. And the paper, I love the paper. It's thick and supposedly can be used for different art mediums. The artist may not see this but thank you Vimala Choudhary for crafting the beautiful journal. This makes me wonder if this is something people of old times used on their travels to keep notes...

Wow wow wow....we are so pleased with it, absolutely beautiful and well made. Perfect and highly recommend this, gives us even more inspiration to be creative to fill it for memories for our little baby girl. Highly recommend this and it was also delivered a day early. The quality of the binder and the paper is outstanding and not thin, the smell of the leather is beautiful. Complete value for money and the feel and quality and attention to detail is perfect.

I had ordered a smaller version last year but wanted more space. I had wanted this larger size and boy is it MUCH LARGER! Not in a bad way, it is the size of a scribbler but thicker and it is sooo beautiful and crafted with excellence. You will be doing the people who make this a great service by supporting them and you owe it to yourself as well for they made such a wonderful product with love for you too!
