Appears to be a good value if it lasts long. The AX1800 took 5 minutes to setup with TP-Link Mesh system router and the DECO App. After following the initial plug in and waiting for the AX1800 and the LED light instruction settings; I opened the DECO app on my cell phone and then clicked on more. There I enabled WPS in the app and then pressed the WPS button on the AX1800. The AX1800 unit connected within seconds and was fully functional within a couple of minutes. I have it about 40 feet and behind 3 walls away from the router. The speed is nearly equal to that of the router. Hope this is useful for anyone setting this up with TP DECO Mesh!

Works great - it changed the WiFi at far side of our house from 40Mpbs to 200Mbps, which makes a big difference for both computing and WiFi cell phone use. Not too hard to install, and it extends your existing WiFi instead of creating a second network (which complicates EVERYTHING). If you don't want the SSID broadcast for security (like we don't), you do have to explicitly turn that off after installation (which we found out much later).

Due to the size and layout of my home, there was no way to get a centrally placed router to reach certain areas with a strong enough signal. I decided to buy this extender to help fix these issues and it has worked out quite well. Now, most devices that had weaker signals have had better connectivity, especially the many smart devices that I have outside of my main living space (basement, video doorbell, external cameras, etc.). Installation was very easy, and setup with my TP-Link router was simple. The only surprise really came from the size of the product - it is much bigger than I thought it would be. I had space for it, but if you want this to be inconspicuous, that is going to be a tough one. This doesn't detract from the value, as I have it in a location that is not very visible, but if form factor matters to you, take close note of the size (including antennas) before buying.

Okay, this extender connected right away with my modem/router. It shows up well n the Tether app. Has great signal. But, even though it connects to your existing WiFi router it is basically a separate router. So if you have a device that was connected to your main router and you want to use this device to get a stronger signal you will need to redesignate the new router name that will be created by this extender. You can change the name of the New extender/router to whatever you want. There will be two new devices that will appear on your list of available routers. They will most likely be named the same name as your main router with the suffix of _EXT and _5GEXT, or something like that. You will need to create new or use existing passwords for the during setup. Then, to connect to one of these go through the same process as when connecting to any WiFi. Even though this extender is connected to your main router you don’t use the connect SSID from that router, you use what you have created for this extender.

This extender works very well. I use it with an Orbi router in my office to connect with my workshop, which is about 60 feet from the house. Although it is at the end of its receiving range, it delivers excellent wifi quality. The instructions that come with it are clear and easy to follow, and set-up took only a few minutes. It's a great product and reasonably priced.

This extender bonded seamlessly with my router. It worked fantastic from the very beginning and was easy to set up. It had a significant range in my network.

In my situation, which can’t be the only one, I wanted to extend my signal to another room in my shop. The shop is roughly 80x100 with steel walls deciding the sections. The problem is my main WiFi router wouldn’t get any signal going through the walls to the other room. Even though they were 20ft and 50ft away respectively. So I bought this to hardwire an Ethernet cable from my router to this extender to use the same network signal and essentially have a another WiFi emitting device in another room on the other side of a steel wall to get signal. The problem that you must be aware of is there is absolutely no way to set this up in access point mode UNTIL you have wirelessly connected to your network. I figured I could go into the initial setup and change modes immediately before going through the entire setup process, a process that ONLY works if your extender can connect to your wireless router, connect to it, finalize its settings, reboot to save them, then go back into your setup and finally be able to change modes to “access point” mode. So first point of contention, the device will NOT finish setup (errors and times out) if you have an active ethernet cable attached to it. In my case, that was the signal from one of the lan ports of my router plugging into this extender (remember, no signal through steel walls). So easy enough fix. Simple set the device up next to your existing router, then after finalizing setup, rebooting, changing to AP mode, moving router to its new location, and plugging in Ethernet cable, it works fine. My advice would be to have your team update the drivers / setup to immediately ask, as in the 1st step, the mode someone will be using this device. That would save tons of time and headache as I’m sure many people would use this device hardwired from a long lan port run off their router like I am. After that, seems to work fine and exactly what I was looking for. Just be aware the install instructions don’t exactly give you this info. And above all, if you plan on using the Ethernet port on the extender, DO NOT plug anything into it until AFTER your setup has completed and finalized. I had to do 2 hard resets of the device before I figured out that was what was stopping me from the initial setup as well. Just an FYI….

Ich nutze den TP-Link Repeater in Kombination mit meiner Fritz!Box 7490 und bin rundum zufrieden. Die Einrichtung war super einfach: Repeater in die Steckdose, WPS-Taste am Router und Repeater drücken, und schon war die Verbindung hergestellt. Kein kompliziertes Setup, kein langes Herumprobieren – das Ganze hat keine zwei Minuten gedauert. Die Verbindung zur Fritz!Box funktioniert absolut problemlos. Ich nutze das 5 GHz-Band, und die Leistung ist hervorragend. Selbst im Garten habe ich jetzt ein starkes WLAN-Signal, wo vorher kaum Empfang war. Streaming und Surfen laufen stabil und ohne Abbrüche. Besonders positiv: Der Repeater ist kompakt, arbeitet leise und fällt kaum auf. Die Signalstärke und Geschwindigkeit sind deutlich besser als erwartet. Ein kleiner Tipp: Am besten den Repeater nicht zu weit vom Router platzieren – dann bleibt die Verbindung wirklich schnell und stabil. Mein Fazit: Schnelle Einrichtung, perfekte Kompatibilität zur Fritz!Box, und endlich WLAN bis in den Garten. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Para ello debes presionar el botón WPS en el router y antes de 2 minutos, pulsar el botón que viene en el repetidor. Comenzará a papadear en modo RE y en cuando se reconozca la conexión, ya quedará configurado. 2 - Mediante la App Tether. En esta ocasión, debes de conectarte a la red wifi del repetidor, que viene con contraseña. Una vez conectado, entras en la App y ya te permite configurarlo, seleccionando la red wifi que desees y a la que deberás introducir su contraseña. Con el router principal de casa tengo una velocidad de unos 600mbps y si conecto este modelo a la red wifi en modo repetidor, me anda en una velocidad de 150mbps. Esta prueba la hice estando el repetidor al lado del router principal, por lo que no conseguía una velocidad alta. Decepción. Hice otra prueba, poniendo el repetidor alejado del router principal y la recepción de señal era bastante buena y tenía una velocidad de más de 100mbps a más de 11 metros de distancia, sin elementos que interfirieran en la señal. Muy bien. Es un dispositivo con bonito diseño, compacto aunque con un tamaño mayor que otros modelos. Tiene una fácil configuración mediante de su App Tether Si dispones de un router con emparejamiento WPS, no necesitas tener la app instalada. En el emparejamiento WPS, te creará una nueva conexión wifi con el mismo nombre que la que está clonando, pero con la terminación "_EXT" al final de la misma. La contraseña será la misma que la wifi principal. Para cambiar el nombre de la wifi o la contraseña, necesitarías hacerlo desde la App. La App es bastante completa y tiene la opción de realizar diferentes configuraciones: * Configuración rápida de internet * Cambiar propiedades de la red extendida * Asistente de localización, para determinar la mejor ubicación del mismo * Opción de compartir wifi de modo rápido * Control del led indicador de funcionamiento, horas de funcionamiento, deshabilitar.. * Ajustes de la configuración LAN * Ajustes de configuración del servidor DHCP * Cambiar potencia de la señal wifi. Este router viene con un puerto ethernet de 1000mbps, cosa que los modelos más económicos sólo traen hasta 100mbps y con un wifi dual de 2.4 y 5Ghz con tecnología Mimo, que en teoría nos permite una mayor cobertura y hace que pueda conectarse de forma simultánea con múltiples dispositivos de una manera más eficiente y con menos pérdidas. ✅ CONCLUSIÓN Un repetidor con buenas prestaciones y una relación calidad/precio en la media del mercado. Cumple perfectamente con su función y en mi caso estoy satisfecho con su rendimiento..
