Great, Simple Electric Razor
Finally talked myself into replacing a very old Philips razor by purchasing this one, and I’m very glad I did! It cuts smoothly and painlessly, the battery life is solid, and I really have no complaints. It’s simple and gets the job done. I suppose I would prefer if it came with an adapter to charge via an outlet instead of only via USB, but that’s not a huge issue. Highly recommend overall.

Good Shaver
I like it, It shaves close and what I really like is Thar it is a wet dry shaver. It really works well with shaving cream and cleans up easy and no razor burn. I recommend this for anybody who wants a good wet dry shaver. It may not be the very best but right up there.

Good but almost not for poor engineering on charge cord set up.
Replaced an old Norelco Aquatec that is still working but I wanted a new razor. This 3900 series is just what I wanted. It is high quality one come to expect from Norelco. It feels solid in the hand and the rubberized grip makes it easy to hang onto even when wet. It works well either wet or dry. The only CON I can come up with is it comes with an USB charger cable but no dongle. Now I understand most folks today have USB chargers already but those are used for thier intended device. I have installed wired USB outlets around my home and will have to add one to the bathroom for this razor. Not a deal breaker but still annoying. This omission of this could not change the cost of the entire unit that much. The other thing is the proprietary plug that goes into the actual razor. Why not make this a USB "C" that is standard on so many devices today. Then you could use a charge cord that is readily available almost anywhere. If you loose or damage your charge cord you are out of luck and will have to order one from Norelco. For this reason alone I am only giving 4 stars.

Stick with the name brands...
I needed a new shaver and tried a couple of off-brands that were less expensive. All I have to say is that you get what you pay for. The off-brand shavers tended to pull... or stick on my skin and occasionally pulled my whiskers rather than cutting them. Once I got this Philips shaver, I was good to go again. The material they use for the actual cutting surface glides across my skin effortlessly, and it cuts cleanly with no pulling. It also came with a nice charging stand. The quality feels good and it seems like the battery is holding up well (the off brand units ran down pretty quickly). Would recommend it.

Quality, fun to use shaver
I've seen this style of shaver in movies and such while growing up. You know, the guy shaving in the car while stuck in traffic late to work? What a time saver I thought. But I always went with some form of safety razor for precision and closeness. After 30 years or so of seeing rotary shavers in ads, movies etc, and excellent results with other Philips Norelco products, like the vacuum beard trimmers they used to make. I figured the tech on the rotary razor is super refined by this point and wanted to try one. Even if it sucked, I knew I could use it at least on occasion to get a head's start if I was in a rush. I got the 3600 because when I went to the brand website, it was one of this year 2024's releases. And I knew I wanted the latest engineering greatness. Also this one came with a pouch, which is nice. If you look at all of their shavers that look like this, there's not a whole lot of difference other than 5D vs 4D heads, the product color, and whether or not it comes with a pouch, stand, or both. Look closely, some of them the only difference from one to another is that for $20 more you get a charging stand. Anyway, I got this one because it's a newer release, comes with a pouch, and I figure 5D means slightly more efficient or faster shaving. I haven't compared but I wouldn't think twice about any of their other shavers. I would expect a similar experience with any of them. The shaving experience is very nice, the rotary razors glide over my face like butter. I should note that I use the Lectric Shave splash first, which dries fast and then I dry shave over it. I like this a lot more than shaving in the shower with shaving cream, as I do with safety razors. The problem shaving wet with this is unless there is some lubrication on your face at all times, there is no glide with this electric razor. I imagine this is true for any rotary razor but, my experience is best dry with the splash first - no water. This works great to quickly and painlessly clean up your scruff, but if you haven't shaved in a few weeks it's probably better to start with a beard trimmer, as it seem like it would be quite a chore to weed whack a beard with this. Compared to the travel foil shavers I have from Bruan and Panasonic, I find that the Philips Norelco rotary does a better first pass, and the foil shavers do a better second pass or refining. With with the rotary/foil combo I can get a shave about the same as I would with a safety razor. Anyway, very cool and fun to use. Really my favorite part is the sensation itself of massaging my face with the rotary part. It doesn't feel like I'm shaving at all, more like massaging my face, which is so nice.

Good shaver at a good price
Arrived on time and in good order. 60+ years and this is1st electric shaver. I use it dry and have trimmed my mustache and shaved 5-6 times and still shows full charge. very easy to clean and seems to work well although I'm still getting used to it. should have bought it years ago. so far, I'm very happy with this shaver and hope it last for years.

Beware that you can’t charge it straight out of the box
Just bought this for my 90 year old father in law as he had one previously and it quit working after only a year. Received it today and as we were unpacking it, noted it had a charger cord, but not a regular cord to plug into an outlet but one that needs a charger block like a cell phone. Why would that not be included either in the box or in the description!! These older people like my father in law are not 'tech savvy' . In fact he had no idea what i said we needed to get before he could charge it and use it. Very disappointed. Hoping once we are able to charge it, it lasts longer than the previous one did. If not, we will not be getting another Phillips brand

Phillips Norelco series 3000
I've used this razor for a couple of weeks now. It's better than I thought it would be. I had a name brand foil razor for years. This 3 blade rotor razor doesn't run as fast as my old one and I was a little concerned, but to my surprise, it actually works better. I tried it with lectric shave and without. Personally, I like it better with the lectric shave. It gives a close shave without razor burn. I think the slower speed and self sharping blades make that possible. I don't think anything will ever beat a safety razor but this is the closest shave I've ever had with an electric razor . I'm pushing 70 and have had many electric razors and this is one of the best I've ever had. Great purchase for the price. I really like that it's waterproof, that makes it soooo easy to clean. After a shave, just open and rinse under warm water. I've shaved 4 times and it still shows a full charge.
