This inexpensive auto diagnostic tool gave me the lead that solved a nine month question mark. No codes were generated but when one did generate and shortly after that another, I was as finally able to start to track down the source of my rough idle issue. P0301 misfire in cylinder one. Google search came up with a list of possible solutions and then I found the cure from a fellow home taught mechanic. A bad coil pack which I ordered from Amazon for $20 and problem solved! Without the code reader I would not have had constant access to checking for codes. Well worth the price!
