Chickpea Butter Spread - Traditional (12 Oz)

I discovered this at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. Out of the thousands of products there, this one was my favorite (this one and the Choc-A-Chic Spread). This is innovative and delicious, yet with simple trusted ingredients. I love almond butter and peanut butter, but I think I like this best. Fun new product - I highly recommend, along with the yummy choc-a-chic.

I'm confused as to how I don't like this when there are so many good reviews. This did not taste like peanut butter. I tried scraping it off the bread and spread almond butter over what was left. The taste still came through. I can't describe how it tasted. Just not good, and I'm used to earthy, healthy food flavors.

I have a house full of extremely picky and allergic eaters, and the day I got this chickpea spread, it was almost done within the first 30 minutes after opening. The texture is just like peanut butter and the taste is as close as it gets. I do hope this company sticks around for a long long time and they do not mess with the formula...YUM!

I cannot digest nuts well, and try to stay away from palm oil and sugar. This chickpea butter is one of two products I buy to meet my "peanut butter" needs. The taste and texture is great. It's a bit "sticky" or hard to chew when eaten alone, but I don't mind (this is not an issue when eaten with jelly or another spread). I also like how it has protein. The other product I buy (Sneaky Chef No-Nut Butter) is good too, but is much sweeter than the chickpea butter and does not have protein. Also, the palm oil in both products in minimal. I definitely recommend giving this product a try. I probably go through one 12 oz. jar every two weeks or so :)

Horrible Taste and Texture!

It has a good consistency - spreadable and creamy. It also has the right amount of sweetness. I bought this to accommodate a food allergy - an alternative to nut and seed butters. I really wanted to love this product... However, when actually tasted, it did not meet my expectations. The chickpea can be somewhat dry when roasted and that is what comes across in the spread when used as a dip or eaten straight off a spoon - a dry mouth.... significantly dryer than other nut and seed butters. I will have to see if pairing it with a jam helps in order to consider buying it again. I am glad this alternative exists and hope the formula can be improved.

My son who is allergic to peanuts has fallen in love with this chickpea butter! I wish that this company would make a larger, more affordable size!!!! This jar is so small (12 oz.) and doesn’t last very long but is amazingly similar in taste to peanut butter. Kid approved!!!!

DO NOT PURCHASE this product. I ordered for my grandson who is allergic to peanuts. I was very excited to have him try it as he always wants to try peanut butter. The lid was not screwed in tight and when I opened the seal inside was opened and jar not full. Online tried to get information about returning and let amazon know why but all I get it THIS PRODUCT NON REFUNDABLE & NON RETURNABLE.. Not happy about this waste of money $ disappointing grandson.
