Prayer, I've come to believe, is the key element is following through with the foundation of life which Matthew 6:33, Seek God First above all things. Prayer will always lead you to the throne of the Almighty, the throne of the universe. Through the Holy Spirit to Jesus our Savior and High Preist to God the Father, Jehovah. It will lead you to His Word and to life. Ask and ye SHALL recieve (Matt. 7:7). Prayer is key.As I begin to not just know this but live it every day I begin to have a hunger to know how to pray and more about prayer. This book, Breakthrough Prayer along with PAPA Prayer and The Kneeling Christian were defineing books for my life and others that I've since given a copy of it to.You will not regret reading this book. You will find answers here to some of your deepest questions and pointers to where you need to go and how to pray with waiting faith. This book will change your life.Me and my brother went to Brooklyn Tabernacle when I visited him in NYC because we both had read Fresh Faith and Fresh Wind... and we both said the minute we walked through the door we could feel something was different, the presence of the Holy Spirit. Dr. Henry Cloud said it best, a good Bible church mixes the right amount of Grace, Truth and Time. This is one of the rare churches in my life as a missionary kid that I've seen such an example of this.I beg everyone who truly seeks a life of meaning to read this book. It will inspire you. I also highly recommend all of his books as they've all touched my life in some way. I just got through listening to A Life God Blesses back in January after reading this book and it is awesome as well. May God richly bless you as you Seek ye shall find.

Three good stories about the power of praying and receiving a breakthrough. Stories quite different but good examples with heartfelt personal commentary. Cymbala gives you a starting point for achieving the breakthrough you so desperately want but then the rest is up to you and how much and how long and how hard you want to pray. You can walk away and be satisfied you have read a "feel good " book or you can go deeper and understand the connection to pray and breakthroughs.

If you are looking for a meaningful prayer life, this book leads you into that deeper walk of faith that prayer can bring you to. Jim Cymbala expresses how important true humility is and how important it is to our relationship to Christ through prayer. This book gives Biblical guidance to what the heart of prayer should be like and how we can live in the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit.I highly recommend it to anyone whose Christian walk has become stale and if you are looking for deeper meaning in living the Christian life. It is also a good refresher for those who currently have an active, meaningful time of prayer each day with Christ.

One of the best books on prayer I've read in a long time. It has really changed my prayer life, and how I intercede for others. I prayed and fasted for 2 weeks for something really important, and God showed me a lot of things in my heart I needed to confess. I saw my prayers go from selfish motives to whatever your will is Lord, it will be well with my soul. He answered and blessed me way beyond my expectations, then I fell to the floor and praised Him with all that I am.

I am still searching for how to make breakthrough prayer? This book does not reveal what strategy to achieve that. I am doing research on Continue Focus Of Intensive Prayer (CFOIP). There is an article what Pastor David Yonggi Cho teaches on "No Easy Way To Pray" on miracles4you.com. I have been waiting for over 10 years of certain breakthroughs. If I have several breakthroughs by CFOIP, I might write a book on this subject.

This is one of the best books on prayer I have ever read. Jim Cymbala’s scripture references and personal testimony of how “breakthrough prayer” has transformed many lives is truly inspiring. I want to share this book with so many people and I want to read it over and over.

Jim Cymbala is the voice of experience when it comes to prayer. His church is actively involved because it is a prayingcongregation. Miracles happen daily purely as a result of their faith in prayer. God bends His ear to the requests madehere, and this pastor shares his heart and his insights generously with those of us who will listen and practice what herecommends. It is a thrill to contemplate all the things that God wishes to do for His children, and they are ours through prayer.

Awesome & timely book! Living in a time when the world we know is filled with so much uncertainty (economic, health, unrest, freedoms etc) it's so comforting to know that there is ONE who is not phased by any of it AND we have access to come before Him with our concerns to hear His voice and heart as it relates to the things that weigh heavily on us.

This is an excellent book on prayer! I am going to use it as reference for my Bible study class. Received it very quickly.

Jim Cymbala is a man of prayer. You can see it through his book. It's a inspiration. I encourage you to read it.
