Top quality, great functionality, excellent support - highly recommended
I've got 12 of these, and they are so simple to use with Alexa & Home Assistant. I use them with Home Assistant for the energy monitoring which allows me to spot high use appliances, and then automate them if I don't need them on all the time. For example, I now run my hot water immersion heater using cheap electricity in the early morning instead of using the gas boiler - saves me about £1 _*every*_ day I've been using them for years, and would have recommended them anyway, but a few days ago 1 plug did stop working. I raised a ticket on their easy support website, and had a replacement sent for free with no trouble at all. Very swift, very painless, very professional I've also been using their garage door opener for years - that's equally easy to use and hook up with Home Assistant & Alexa Nice one Meross - I'm loving it

Great product, great company!
What's better than great hardware at a great price? Great customer service!! It's a rare thing these days that when something breaks the company actually want to help without giving ridiculous reasons why they're not going to (I'm looking at you a big electronics company beginning with S!). I bought these last year and went for the multi-pack so I had some spare and one of them was dead when I tried to use it so I went on the get support link on here which sent me to a form the Meross support site. The standard, what is it, what's up with it, take a picture of it, upload the receipt click send and wait. Less than 24hrs later a lovely support person got back to me to let me know they were shipping a replacement. No jumping through hoops, no transferring to different departments and having to explain all over again, no waiting days and hearing nothing, no warranty denied due to T&Cs. 2 days later I had the replacement in my hand ready to turn a plug in air freshener on and off scheduled by home assistant. I've bought several Meross smart plugs over the last 5 years and they've all worked perfectly (minus this dead one which I'm not counting as a death in service). I would 100% recommend using Meross devices in your smart home, definitely my favourite WIFI smart device provider! As for these particular devices, very easy to set up, just plug in - open the app - click add - select model - let it search, find it and add it to your network, really easy! Switches respond as if instantly to trigger events. The plugs are nice and slim too so work fine with splitters/double sockets. The Meross app is acceptable but I use home assistant to manage everything once it's been onboarded but having the app gives you an easy link into the Alexa skill.

They do the job, and pretty well.
We control these plugs using Alexa through a series of Echo Dots that are, um, dotted around the house. They connected with wifi just fine and with a lot less faffing about than other things such as smart bulbs. We made sure to connect them to the 2.4Ghz band that most smart devices currently prefer - it makes little difference in most cases because the data being sent back and forth is trivial, simple commands and responses. It doesn't need a superfast band in order to work just fine. We use the 2.4Ghz guest network option on our main router, leaving the faster 5G band on the guest network for, well, guest devices. Using the guest networks limits the clutter on the main wifi channels of our router used for everything else online. We made our lives more complicated by having MAC address filtering on all network devices by default, which might keep intruders away, but also makes every smart gadget need to be registered with the MAC filter. The plugs (and bulbs) then revealed that our house was in fact a bit too large for the wifi to reach the extremities, and we needed to buy a wifi extender to improve coverage. These scramble the MAC addresses meaning that we had to register every smart gadget twice! Some connect to the extender by default, others to the main router, and a few will connect to either of them, so a lot of security entries needed setting up twice. But that's not a problem of these plugs. It might be needed should a far-flung smartplug simply not cooperate with the app or with Alexa. It's just something to bear in mind if you run a secure network with wifi extenders. Everyting now works like a charm. Devices reliably come on when asked, and with something like Alexa to help, they can run on timers for as long as you require. We have a gym that we can pre-heat with a fan heater in winter (it is unheated) or keep warm using an oil filled radiator on another Meross plug. We can now be anywhere in the house and ask Alexa to preheat the gym for 10 minutes (fan heaters being a nightmare on running costs), and these Meross smartplugs do the job very well. The Amazon plugs are more expensive, larger, and don't have energy monitoring capabilities so far as I can tell from the two we also have. The Meross plugs also have a side switch that enables you to simply lean over and switch the plug off without disconnecting it from wifi. These are great for sockets hidden away inconveniently behind furniture, you can flip that inaccessible power switch with a voice command instead. It means the Meross plugs are always on, but the energy overhead from using one is miniscule (it measures its own usage as well, as part of the overall scheme of things). I'd wondered when we were setting up this very basic automation in the house, that we were going to become too dependent on gadgets to do things we used to do manually, but if using them becomes effortless, it's easier to accept! We're now quite used to switching things on remotely, basically because these plugs seem reliable and also "accountable" in that we can see what power is being drawn through the devices by whatever's connected to them. We have a tortoise that needs its basking lamp on for a given amount of time in order to stay healthy, and we can now be in the kitchen and "switch him on" at the other side of the house for a given number of hours. We have about 10 of these in the house, a lot of stuff is still done the old fashioned way, but these are all reliable, none have shown a single problem, and while we could live without them, I'm actually becoming fond of what they make easier for us to do. While this might seem more of an ad for Alexa, I'm hoping that it indicates that these smart plugs are actually very good. For less outlay than for the majority of smart plugs, you get a decent array of features in a device that just quietly gets on with life. The cash we've saved by being able to limit on-times of things around the house more than covers the trickle of power used to keep the smart plugs listening to the network. I would personally hate becoming dependent upon automation in my own home, and the limits of automation sometimes mean we end up having to adapt how we operate in orrder to fit in around things the automation can't or won't do, but if we add a little light automation to things that are inconvenient in our everyday life at home, we would want it to be dependable. These plugs are just that.

Control ability
Very easy to set up with Meross then Alexa. Not cheap but works well. Feels solidly built, no connection issues, so have controlled my Christmas lights without issue. There is a neat switch for manual control too.

SO easy to setup & use! - Simply Brilliant!
Purchased a set of two Meross Smart Plugs a month or two ago. We have been so impressed with the quality and ease of use that we ordered another set (of four!) They really are easy to setup! You can use them for so many things other than simple on/off switches or timers etc...So many ideas on the internet and the Meross app is full of ideas and very easy to use. Typically, it takes just a few seconds to setup a new "routine" and I am no technophile. Once or twice recently swmbo (She Who Must Be Obeyed) forgot to turn off her iron! I thought about it and put one of the new plugs to work as a safety measure. Now the iron turns on & off via a voice command BUT! if swmbo forgets to turn off the iron, it automatically shuts down after a given time, in our case 45 minutes. So, no wasting of expensive electricity with the iron being on all day or over night and we are kept safe too! That's just one example of the so many things you can achieve with these smart plugs. There are hundreds more! Delivery was quick from Amazon and literally three minutes after unpacking them I was already using them. With or without the Meross app. setting up is very easy. All you do is pair it to your internet hub using your internet password and away you go! The app is VERY good and gives you another (Manual) level of control besides the voice control. We have been using them now since December 2023. They don't require additional hardware and in all that time not once have they stumbled. No rebooting etc they just work & work & work. Technology at its best!

Small and simple to use
I have two of these to control the UV lights in my reptile vivariums. Unlike some timers, they are small enough to use on an extension cord or twin plug socket without blocking the space used by an adjacent plug. They can be connected to Alexa or Google hub Or like mine , just controlled from your phone using one Meross app. The ap is fairly simple to use. Pairing is easy and didn't take to long to figure out how to set the schedule for on off times for each plug. I would definitely recommend these smart plugs I

It works and much cheaper than others
Update After a week of daily use, I’m really impressed with these Wi-Fi plugs. The data shows up on the app with no noticeable delay, and once I linked them to Alexa the on/off commands are almost instant. For example, I can say “turn kitchen lights on” and they light up right away—same speed when switching them off. Still working perfectly and very happy with the performance. We bought this smart plug to track the output of our battery emergency power supply (EPS) during mains outages. It’s not the usual “switch a lamp on with Alexa” job, but it’s exactly what we needed. (See Photo 1 for the plug connected to the EPS socket for scale.) Our Setup Our home Wi-Fi runs as a single combined 2.4 / 5 GHz network delivered through Starlink satellite internet, and we never separated the bands. The plug paired straight away—no need to create a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID. From opening the box to seeing live data in the Meross app took about three minutes. Instant Power Data The power-consumption readings are almost instantaneous. As soon as the EPS takes over, the app shows the change in draw, letting us decide—on the spot—whether to shed a heavy load before the battery dips too far. (Photo 2 shows a sample of the real-time power graph from the Meross app.) Why Starlink Matters Because our internet connection comes from Starlink, we have greater flexibility during a power cut. As long as the house is running on the emergency battery, the satellite link stays live, so we keep full network access and can continue to monitor the plug remotely. Even if broadband outages affect the wider area, our local network and satellite connection remain constant. Reliability for Us If the internet did drop, the plug would still report over the local LAN, and Alexa voice commands would continue to work as long as the router has backup power. That redundancy gives us real confidence when we’re off-grid. Day-to-Day Details The plug is compact, rated for 13 A / 3120 W, and has a physical side switch for manual cut-off. It tucks neatly behind furniture without blocking the second socket, which suits our tight utility space. ⸻ Conclusion This review is based entirely on our own experience using the plug as a live monitor for an emergency power supply on a Starlink satellite network—a purpose well outside its typical smart-home role. The photos included show both the physical setup and the live data that make it so valuable. For us it provides dependable, near-instant energy data and seamless connectivity even during blackouts, and I hope this alternative use case proves helpful to others.

Great Energy Monitoring Feature
I've got loads of smart devices (79 to be precise). Meross devices are super easy to setup, compatible with Alexa/HACS etc, the ability to programme repeat timer functions/scripts/automations etc are super easy. There is a manual on/off button on the side The added energy use feature is a great addition, i have some of these without it and i much prefer these.
