It occurs in the Mediterranean area so often that poeple mistakenly believe that the plant is indigenous to this region. The agave is a succulent tub plant, very easy to care for. It is completely undemanding and doesn't need a β€žgreen thumbβ€œ being cared for. It has been known as a tub plant since 1561. Origin: Central states of the USA to the nothern areas of South America. Propagation: The seeds can be started indoors throughout the year. Leave the flat seeds to soak in water at room temperature overnight and push them about 1 cm deep into moist cultivation soil afterwards. Germination should happen after 3 to 10 weeks. Place / Light: The agave loves bright and sunny locations. It should not be moved outdoors before mid-April. Care: Agaves are adapted to hard living condtions of desert-like regions and do need very little water. There's absolutely no need to worry if they are at times left without being watered for 4 to 5 weeks. The root area should dry up first before watering again.
