1906 AVS2 Carburetor 650 CFM With Electric Choke, Satin Finish

Great carburetor, I didn’t have to make any changes to jetting. I installed it onto a small block Chevy 350 that has a roller cam along with a Edelbrock aluminum intake. Car runs better than ever before. Highly recommended!

I bought this carb to replace a Holley. I've always had Holleys on the 351M in my truck, but decided to try the Edelbrock because of the fuel delivery method on the AVS2. I could not be more pleased with the improvement. The Edelbrock responds immediately to the gas pedal. It does not stumble at all and accelerates smoothly and strong. The overall performance has improved dramatically since installing this carb. The engine is also running much more smoothly and even the exhaust tone is better than with the Holleys. To be fair, my guess is that I was just never able to get the Holleys tuned just right so this is not being critical of Holley carbs. I just lack that skill set to tune those carbs and the Edelbrock seems to be good out of the box. I only had to make slight adjustments to the idle speed screws. Another plus for me is that the Edelbrock is wider but not as deep as the Holleys. I have an electronic distributor that is larger than the OE distributor and with the Holleys it has always been really tight between the carb and the distributor. With the Edelbrock, I have at least an inch or so between them. It makes adjusting timing easier. I also added the Edelbrock 9265 heat insulator gasket which lifts the carb maybe a 1/4 inch which also helps with clearance. I gave it a 3 for installation ease because on the Fords it requires another kit (1483) for the C6 automatic transmission kick down bar to attach to the carb. It took some adjusting and getting a longer adjustment screw for this, but with some tinkering it works perfectly. Nothing really hard about the install, but it does require some fiddling to make everything work smoothly on the Ford. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.

I love edelbrock, and this was the cheapest price on this carb i could find. it came pre tuned so i didn't have to screw around with it. it looks great, it works great and my truck is running.

Put on sbc 350 and it works great. Had to of course raise the idle, adj mixture screws and choke fast idle. Very easy install with the assurance that you have purchased a quality product. Will come requiring a signature so arrange for that!

So far it fits. Haven't hooked it up but I have hopes it will run great

I had to replace an old Holley and went this route. Bolted on and started right up. Idle was a little high but other than that haven't adjusted anything else yet and I can drive it. Will get more into adjusting later.

Ok - so I bought two of these carburetors, based on a favorable past experience with a new Edelbrock carburetor years ago. I put one on a 1979 GMC C-1500 Heavy-Half, 350 V-8 that I was making some updates on, and also a 2nd one for my boat - a 351 Windsor inboard/outboard. I just wasn't in the mood to fight the old carburetors that were on these. So, the carburetors installed easily. A vacuum port plug was provided, for the back of the caruburetor, if your vehicle doesn't have power brakes. This seemed odd to me, as virtually everybody has power brakes nowadays - so to me, they should have provided a hose nipple to put into this port - not a plug (although, for my boat, that worked out great). The paperwork says there was supposed to be a DVD in the box but there wasn't. These carburetors worked flawlessly, right out of the box, with ONE exception; neither will let me adjust the idle low enough. I have all vacuum ports utilized or plugged, and I have no vacuum leaks anywhere that i can see, but I can only get the idle so low, then the screw no longer makes contact with the carburetor control. I called Edelbrock's tech hotline, thinking there must be an adjustment somewhere else on the carburetor that I just wasn't aware of - and they told me I must have a vacuum leak. Not much help. I told them I had two and BOTH are exhibiting the same problem/issue, but I was told I must have a vacuum leak, as the carburetor should be able to idle low enough to stall. They suggested I mess with the mixture screws - but I can't see how that could offer a valid solution and would only result in my mixture being messed up, and I've never heard of messing with the mixture screws to lower an idle. Anyway - I like the product and will continue to try to get them to "idle down" but - we'll see I guess. And - if you call the Edelbrock hotline - they give you an option to dial or say 0, and they'll call you back - but that didn't seem to be working. A "knit" and I told them about it. And, the guy told me they quit supplying the DVD over a year ago. This is no real problem, as there is an excellent tutorial on YouTube. I am disappointed though, with not being able to "idle down" either of these carburetors. BOTH are exhibiting the same phenomenon. But - I like the product regardless.

edelbrock 1906 i ordered did not run backfired out the exahaust idel was up and down never had a problem with new carberetor befor sent it back next day still have not been refunded after over 3 weeks put the holly carb back on runs fin but to rich why i went to the edelbrock 1906 wont ever buy again return heild hostage

Love thus carburetor, out of the box starts and runs well even on a big block chev on a cold day starts and idles nice, minor tuning gets it humming well. Great investment

I swapped out old quadrajet for this on a 305sbc in my c10. Right out of the box fired up and ran better than ever. After test drive and minor adjustment on idle air screws with vacuum gauge its like i have a hole..... Different truck! Better throttle response sounds different and gets to higher rpm's without hesitation. Was I was constantly struggling with the quadrajet to get rid of hesitation. Should have got one years ago!! It's minor adjustments for throttle linkage and kickdown cable/choke/fuel line,installed in about 2 hours
