Good music done cheap
This is the best Kiss album they never released. You can hear Gene Simmons and the band pretty much on every song. If this was a Kiss album they would've released this right after Lick It Up because it would make a nice trio with that one and Creatures Of The Night. Unfortunately the packaging was done super cheap and it looks that way. All those texts you see on the cover that looks like stickers have been printed on it and there's nothing but advertisements on the back side of it. There's no bonus tracks and no remastering. The music is just as good as I remembered but the rest is a big let down when compared to the original vinyl version.

The lost KISS album?
A thundering solo album from Plasmatics singer Wendy 'O' Williams with considerable help from Kiss, produced by Simmons,he played bass under the name Reginald Van Helsing, guest appearances by Stanley,Carr and Ace Frehley, songs written by Simmons, stanley and Vincent, its a veritable Kiss feast. At the time forums and fan sites suggetsed this was a rejected Kiss recording with Williams' vocals added, certainly a Kiss version of 'Its My Life turned up on the Kiss box set a few years back, the studios and engineer credited were the same as those used for 1983's Lick It Up release. So what do you get, well nine slabs of b*lls to the wall metal with a drum sound to rival Kiss's Creatures of the Night album(indeed its not hard to imagine its Eric Carr-RIP,playing the drums),highlights the aforementioned 'Its My Life','I love Rock N Roll','Thief In The Night' and a superb 'Bump N Grind' feature a typical Space Ace solo. The album is excellent,on vinyl when it was first released ,in my humble opinion,it blew Lick It Up and Animalise out the water. The remaster for this release has dampened the drum sound slightly,a bit harsh, trebly in places, however its a must have disc, buy and enjoy and wonder are you listening to a hidden Kiss gem?

Bump n Grind
I bought this album on vinyl in the late 1980s and thought I would get the CD as well. Its a great metal album with Wendy at her raunchy best. My favourite track is 'bump and grind' closely followed by 'I love sex and rock n roll'. Wendy of course went on to front the Plasmatics, carving up cars with a chain saw. Sadly she committed suicide. This is, I think, much better than the Plasmatics stuff - just good old fashioned heavy metal.

A very under-rated rock album
Ongoing internet opinion polls, conducted by leading Plasmatics specialist Anna Sthetic, show that Plasmatics and Wendy O Williams fans seldom agree on what is their 'best' album. Each one has its own character, and that's a tribute to the orginality of the band and their 'manager-Svengali' Rod Swenson. This one is by far the most conventional, being (more or less) a solo Wendy O effort, with a heavy dose of KISS influence.Every song is good, and Wendy is in great voice. If anyone thinks she was some sort of soft-porn star who was chosen to lead the band simply because she looked good, they should think again! She was up for a major music award on the basis of this vocal performance, and rightly so.The recording quality is excellent, and if you can't hear all the words (you surely won't!) you can get them from Anna's 'Plasmatics' site, it's very easy to find on the web. This album's not as political/moralistic/religious as the other Plasmatics ones, because it's more to do with Wendy asserting her independence (which I guess is political in its own way). But Opus in Cm7 is a more typical Plasmatics effort, dealing with pollution - a common theme to her work which is often missed among the topless photos, chainsaws, explosions and cutting up of guitars on stage. It's a great album, and it drives along with terrific power. With the volume up, it's even better. Play loud!
