It holds the iPad away from the wall a bit, also aiding in vibration and allowing you to hide a cable box behind it (in case you want to run a cable through a wall). They include a clear, easy-to-use template for drilling holes in the wall in exactly the right position which is damned handy. They include a little cable holder/clip, which I didn't need but was a nice inclusion nonetheless. The mounting hardware includes washers so that when you tighten the screws you aren't twisting and distorting the silicone; someone was obviously thinking ahead here. VERY VERY MINOR THINGS that I'd like to see them address: They clearly intend on this mount to be installed on drywall; they include plastic wall anchors and matching screws. But the screws are just long enough for those wall anchors. If one or more mounting points happens to be over a wall stud the screws aren't long enough so you'll need to supply longer screws on your own. Increasing the length of the anchors and screws by another half inch would have solved this without compromising the ability to mount it into drywall. Also, although they include a brilliant template for drilling holes in the wall, they DON'T tell you how big the drill bit needs to be to properly mount the system. Sure, it's not a big deal to figure it out on your own, but since they paid attention to other details it seems very odd that they overlooked this. Review: Excellent mounting bracket - We needed something easy, yet durable and appealing to mount the iPad we planned on using as a home hub. The bracket comes with a template that helps you mount it correctly. We used a laser level to ensure our top and bottom points were aligned. We put it on a stud so we swapped out the drywall screws it came with for some of ours and two stud screws. It worked great. Feels very secure and the iPad fits perfectly. We ordered a magnetic holder for the pencil we will place next to this mount. The 3M tape would probably hold but I wouldn't trust my Ipad on it. **Q: Is there a template for the ipad pro 11” model available. i bought the product. the template has a bunch of ipads but not 11 pro** A: Unfortunately, not at this time. **Q: Would it mount a 16" screen?** A: Qualified "probably". The two brackets are separate pieces so they can be moved independently of one another. Theoretically it could hold a tiny 7" tablet or a big ol' 12" tablet. The caveat, however, is the thickness of the tablet. The tablet slides into the mount from the side. I'm using mine to hold a first gen iPad Air which has a thickness of 7.5mm and it's a pretty tight fit. If your tablet is more than that you may have difficulty sliding the tablet into the mounted brackets, assuming it would fit at all. iPads generally fall between around 6-9.5mm on the thickness scale (with the old-school original iPad at a hefty 13.4mm) so I'd be wary if you have a thicker tablet. **Q: I want to mount this in a small space between windows where the width is only 3.5 inches. Overall, very happy with the purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great in portrait! *by K***8 on January 4, 2020* I wanted to hang my iPad in portrait mode but all of the photos and item description shows it only hangs in Landscape. A couple of people stated in the q and a that you had to cut the silicone in order to make a cut-out for the charger if you want to hang it in portrait....which I was planning on doing. Upon unboxing one of the frames has a cut out the size for the 3 holes (smart connector) on the side of the iPad....it is also the PERFECT size for the lightning charger. Not sure that this was the intention but the company should probably advertise it as working in either hanging orientation. The directions only include a paper template for landscape mode so I had to make do without it. Here is the photo all completed....no cutting needed! Hanger is PERFECT! Sturdy, attractive, streamlined, and great quality! Couldn't be happier!!
