This was perfect for when I had surgery on back for a herniated disc.
This was a life saver when I had my second back surgery and when I threw my back out. I wish I had it for my previous surgery. I’m only 35 so this isn’t just for the elderly or disabled. This lifts the toilet seat a good 3-4 inches or so to make It higher up. It was easy and fast to install. When I had a bad flare up in my lower back from a herniated disc, this made it so much easier and less painful to get up off the toilet. The Same for when I had my surgery to fix the disc. It’s less strain on your back, butt and legs, it simply made it easier to get up. After my first surgery I got stuck everywhere, including the toilet because the pain was so horrible. My toilet is very low. ( I may be updating it in the future) I didn’t use the bars on the side because of how my bathroom is set up.There wasn’t much room. I could’ve made room but with all the pain I was in from my back I just left things the way they were. I also ordered a bidet. It helped a little bit but with the two item combined it threw off the sprayer. I’m sure there was a way to fix it but I didn’t have anyone to help me. But that’s ok. And besides the point. It wasn’t a deal breaker. Now that I’m on the mend to recovery from my surgery, I can remove the seat. Hopefully I’ll never need it again but it’ll get packed away should I need it again in the future.

Makes a Big Difference and Provides Great Support
This Carex Raised Toilet Seat with Arms has helped me out so much! It makes sitting down and standing up much easier and provides the extra support and confidence I needed. The padded handles are comfortable to grip, and the seat feels sturdy and secure when in use. It was easy to install and fits well on my toilet. This is a very helpful product for anyone who needs a little extra height and support in the bathroom. I highly recommend it!

Seems to work pretty well, but does make cleaning harder
Easy to install. Does what it is supposed to do (raise the height of the seat for mobility restricted people) and provides some assist handles for getting up and down. Seems adequately constructed for the task. It does complicate the cleaning of the toilet, but I don't suppose there's any way around that. I was a little concerned about its stability if one applied more force to one side handle than the other, but it seems to be working well and to be sufficiently stable as long as properly installed.

would def recommend
like another user noted the handles are a bit wobbly yet sturdy enough to give you the power to raise yourself up enough to get up from the seat without feeling like they will break ... the height on this was enough with minimal effort to rise me up to standing position

Check the seat size for elongated vs round when purchasing
This type of toilet seat is a Must postop knee surgery and in a doctor and researched the best options for recovery 1 it attaches easily and is very sturdy and has the ability to slide 2 postop bending the knee is NO JOKE and the ability to gently sit slowly transitioning from cane or walker is a life saver. Any quick movements cause severe pain and possibly can injure the site 3 you have to get UP after and getting off is also challenging 4 small bathrooms won’t fit the walker so having something to grab other than the sink or toilet paper holder (which will rip off) matters Strongly recommend this with the bars - have a different type in a larger bathroom but strongly prefer this one for recovery

If you need a riser this one's pretty decent for the price
It fits . Installation was fairly easy , it's not adjustable , sturdiness is kind of inquestion because it likes to flop around , and I didn't put it on anything for portability I literally just put on the toilet . It does however crush in where the toilet seat risers are and there was anybody 250 lb sitting on it so I don't understand why it crushes in . And in the hardware it could totally use a metal sleeve spacer or something to fill the Gap so it doesn't get wobbly if you don't tighten it down all the way and you literally have to tighten it down like oh my God tighten , 15 ugga duggas . But other than that it definitely is a riser not only that it fits the toilet better than our last one and it had adjustable sides but this one fits better cuz we were having problems with the other side handles on the sides . Definitely worth the purchase

Poor design, hard to install, not secure, might be a fall risk.
Rarely to I give 1 star reviews. I often just return poor products, get a refund and move on. In this case with the nature of the use, guess we will keep it. 1. The attachment hardware contains washers that are too small for the forward backward positioning slot opening in the seat. Problem here is that they end up going in at an angle. 2. The wider plastic washer also is too small for slot but I expect it was for under the toilet. Problem here is that there are newer better parts for the under part of ceramic toiled that come with seats event form Walmart. They snug up into the opening and damage nothing. 3. The wing nuts for the under toilet seat cannot be turned all the way as they eventually hit the side of the bowl and cannot be turned. This could be depending on the bowl design but again see #2 as a manufacture like this should be aware of better parts. Bottom line is seat would never be tight. 4. I used the better connectors from the regular seat we had to take off and we bought from Walmart. Their threads worked with the bolt supplied. 5. To tighten down, you had to have the washer either at one end or the other end of the forward back positioning slot to prevent it tilting into the slot. So if your best position was anywhere but those two locations it would not work unless you found better washers. Even at that you would find it hard to keep the bolts at those positions as you locked it down. 6. The head of the bolts and washer are on the seat surface so expect bolt marks in your behind. The seat should have a recess for them and a cover. 7. The height is not much more than a good padded seat but is higher. 8. Seat is not soft but that seems to be the standard. 9. There is no lid. Expect your dog drinking it. 10. Cleaning it is ok, but to clean between it and the top of the toilet seat is going to be a big job because you will have to unbolt it. Mold will build in that crack. Again there are easy to lock and unlock mechanisms for seats and the mfg should use them. 11. Handles are strong but have no adjustable levels. For the price, this is a gross overcharge and the product is not something of quality to expect from a brand name. I suspect that what is offered here was a fully packaged manufacturing batch that had wrong hardware and it was pawned off to another distribution channel or vendor to get rid of it.
