This is a skimmer basket that holds bigger debris that the skimmer receives to help stop plumbing issues like clogging.

Review: For the price it’s a keeper - This skimmer basket fits perfectly but I don’t like the handle, it seems abit flimsy.
Review: Breaks easily - This product is made with super cheap plastic and has absolutely no give. I squeezed it too hard and it cracked. The worst part is I don’t have a very firm squeeze. I still used it because the cracks were just where my fingers were and in the morning when I checked it the top of the basket separated from the bottom. The basket was about 1/4 full.

**Q: Is there a way to add an extended vertical handle to this basket?**
A: I don't know specifically for this basket, but if you are concerned about reaching into the "unknown" we use a kitchen tool with a dual purpose.  Its like a wok fry ladle with a mesh paddle end and a hooked handle on the other end.  that way you can scoop into debris then hook the crossbar to retrieve

**Q: What are the dimensions of the basket?**
A: My skimmer basket is marked B-136.  Approximate measurements: height - 6in,  across bottom - 4 7/8,  top: inside - 6 5/8 & outside - 7 3/4

**Q: This basket is designed for the filter at the pool, not the motor filter correct?**
A: correct. I use this basket in the skimmer which is on the pool wall not the pump.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the basket?**
A: it was a little too small for my Aqua Genie. It got sucked into the bottom of the skimmer. Granted i was not paying close enough attentionto it being full of leaves. It was difficult to remove. I recently purchased one of the new ones with a tower above the water

This product is made with super cheap plastic and has absolutely no give. I squeezed it too hard and it cracked. The worst part is I don’t have a very firm squeeze. That nifty little handle thing kept coming off....I eventually threw that out and just used a zip tie to make a handle loop. LOL Otherwise it's great !!
