WHITIN Toddler/Kid Wide School Barefoot Shoes | Boys/Girls Naturally W81K

This is my third time buying these shoes for my toddler. I like how affordable they are for being wide toe boxed “barefoot” shoes. The sole is very flexible and thin, which I want for his developing feet. My son is very tall for his age, which means he has larger feet than his peers, but they’re still chunky like a normal toddler foot. I like the adjustable straps that help give a perfect fit. They hold up well in the washer, but I wouldn’t put them in the dryer or they’ll shrink. The photos attached to my review show the shoes after 6 months of daily use. The appearance cleans up really well with a gentle wash. The fabric is very breathable. Best of all, my son likes them and can even put them on himself.

These are great kids shoes with plenty of room for toe-splay and acceptably flexible soles. There is a little bit of padding for comfort inside, but no unnecessary stuff like arch support. The velcro and construction seems to be good quality, not cheap. By all accounts these look sturdy and I hope will have good longevity (I'll update this review later if we run into any problems but so far so good). The best thing is that they are half the price of kids shoes from bigger barefoot brands, making them accessible to the average family. Sizing seems to be essentially accurate, though maybe a smidge short on insole length. I sized up my oldest who has been consistently wearing a big kid size 3 into a 4 and that left some comfortable growing room. The size 3 was a little close on the toes for them. My 2nd child is only a 1/4" behind in foot length and should hopefully be good in a 3 for the rest of the year and I think a 4 would have been too big in their case. I have no hesitation buying the next size up when we do need it. Width-wise, the shoes are a good average-wide width. My oldest has much narrower feet than my 2nd child and slips around in wide shoes but is able to wear these without feeling loose or encumbered thanks to the double velcro straps. If I could suggest an improvement, it would be to offer more colorways. I ended up buying the navy for both children (a boy and a girl) and let them personalize with paint pens to differentiate.

They are super lightweight and they fit great. Easy to slip on and off. My son has never gotten any blisters when getting a new pair. He loves these shoes breathable material especially when running around. These shoes have helped my son with his balance before I found these shoes my son was always tripping and falling. They have a really great grip. These are my continuous purchases for my kids. I’ve been buying them since he was 4 when I initially found them and he is now 6 and has gone through so many pairs and I will continue to purchase them because of how much my son loves it. He now starts to ask for different colored ones. I recommend these shoes to everyone I’ve even given my nephew a pair that my son outgrew to fast and he loves them. The quality of the shoe is great the Velcro has lasted a long time and hasn’t come apart I’ve run into different brands that sell the same kind of shoe but the Velcro is always the first this go to and my son has put these shoes through the ringer so these are a must have.

These shoes are REALLY wide, like comically wide. My kid doesn't have wide feet, I just wanted something in this general style with a flexible sole and developmentally accommodating toe box. I thought the shoes would be too big for my 4yo but she said they were really comfortable, and always like wearing them. She's outgrown the shoe size, and despite getting hard use outside in the woods and rocks for ~6 months, they've really held up well. I'll definitely be able to use them again for my younger kid. Would 100% recommend, especially for kiddos who actually have wide feet. My only negative feedback would be, although they are mesh, they do dry very slowly. Wasn't an issue for me as I buy my kids dedicated water shoes. But if you were thinking to bring only one pair of shoes on vacation, you can expect your kid to have soggy feet the next day if these get immersed and soaked.

We love Whitin in our house and these shoes were great for my child. Comfortable and breathable and easy to put on. He slips more in other shoes than he does in these ones and when you look at the bottom of the shoe it's clear why! The grip is a lot stronger on these ones. I love that they're not a heavy shoe. Only complaint is the velcro straps. They're exceptionally long? It's to where we tighten the shoe and there is like 2-3 inches of extra strap just dangling off the top of the shoe. It doesn't get in his way or cause problems but it does flap around a bit. Also the Velcro on the straps is coming off - probably something I could sew back together but that seems to be a bit of a quality issue. Pics are of the loose Velcro and how long the straps are!

These are my toddlers favorite shoes! We like the wide toe box and flexible sole. They are easy to hand wash and stains come out easily with oxiclean or bleach (for the white shoes).

I keep repurchasing these in the next size because we love them so much. I wanted a barefoot style shoe that was easy to strap on and go while being durable. These are great and are in good enough condition to pass down to my younger daughter. Fit is true to size. Must be comfortable as they are my daughter’s go-to shoe and she was able to put them on herself at 2 years old.

FINALLY! A children's shoe that is zero drop, WIDE, flexible, AND AFFORDABLE!! I've spent so much money and time over the years buying shoes and having to return them when they don't fit or their quality is nowhere near the purchase price point. I resorted to making my kids' shoes myself (which is super fun, but time consuming, and school was a little leery of homemade shoes over mainstream looking gym shoes). I own whitins for myself, so I was over the moon when I saw they made a children's shoe. My kiddo was so happy to have shoes that fit his feet and that were flexible enough for him to move in! My only "con" for the shoes is if your kid has skinny ankles the foot opening might be pretty big on them until the shoes break in enough for you to tighten the velcro all the way. Wearing socks with the shoes filled the gap and sped up break in time. It makes for long and floppy velcro, but I don't mind that since my kid is able to put them on independently because of the generous opening. I hope whitin takes this amazing shoe and turns it into more styles and sizes—hello rain and snow boots and toddler shoes!
