Needed a double boiler for melting beeswax without burning it. Wasn't impressed with what the bee supply places sell and didn't want the fuss of one pot in another pot. This item is real short on details, so I measured its capacity when I got it. It holds one quart filled to just under the lid, and the water chamber holds an additional quart. It has a hole in the lid for a thermometer. It appears finely made, perhaps made in Spain based on the address on the box. It melts faster than I would have expected and will continue to melt if you need to put something else on the burner for a minute. The shape of the lip allows you to pour very neatly without running down the side. You could probably pour a candle directly out of this pot if your aim was good, though I prefer to use an old soup ladle with the handle bent horizontal.

This is the best double boiler I have ever used. The one piece construction is awesome. No losing part of the boiler. Heated fast and super easy clean up. Everyone needs one!!!

I read all the reviews, and the only one that was consistent that was very true was the water spout. It should be on the other side. However, if you are left-handed, this is great for you. I went to pour the chocolate out of the pot, and some water spilled out, but it was a quick save since it was the end of the chocolate, so it had not started to pour out of the pot yet. The chocolate melted evenly, and the pot cleaned easily. The only thing I didn't think of was dipping three marshmallows on a stick. You cannot do that in this pot; it is not deep enough. But I dipped my strawberries, apples, and everything else. I give 5 stars! Just change the spout side.

This item is exactly what I expected. It contains quality material and construction. It performs as advertised. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Easy to use and clean with even heat for melting chocolate or cheese. Used it lots over the holidays.

Just what I was looking for my chocolate in making Buckeyes.

I made a mixture for healthy bars. Melting of chocolat was perfect and also mixing the mass. The only down side was poring the mass out without getting some hot water from the bottom pot (althogh I pointed the filling port up). A spring loaded stopper (like the one in a pressure-cooker) for that port would have been a practical and safe solution.
