This is a very useful adapter. It’s only drawback, and it is a major one, is that the cord does not unplug from the wall prongs. If these two could separate, as they do on original Microsoft cords and plugs. This would be much more useful.

Saved us from replacing the device!
I gave the full star for all the features because this prevented us from replacing my husband's surface pro. This issue is not with the cord, as much as the feature in the Surface. Seems after using the plug-in for awhile it slowly loses connection and then the device can not be fully charged. I was happy to find this one on line -replacing the cord was much better on the pocketbook then replacing the device.

Reliable
This was purchased for a Surface that is shared by a group of people. No issue which connection. It is one piece which works out best in this case. Does not look cheap. After receiving this item, I purchased a second for backup.
