If you order from Amazon directly, you are ordering for whenever they get a restock. However, there is no anticipated date and sometimes those orders cancel if AMazon can't get more. If you are ordering with a deadline (e.g. birthdays, etc.), it's better to pay a little extra and buy from a third party seller (like me!) that shows a delivery day. However, if there's no urgency (e.g. buying for, say, an upcoming December holiday), you can likely save money by pre-ordering from Amazon. All that being said, if you do buy from a third party seller, I would ONLY purchase from one that says 'Fulfilled by Amazon,' because then you know it's been verified from Amazon and comes with Amazon's customer service.
