How many present of the ceiling space I need to cover for it work effectly?** A: I would say half the ceiling space. Usually these are for the walls though. There are other ones that are better for ceiling too. You just have to be intelligent in selecting the type of hanger. The 'wood' portion is actually an MDF product with what appears to be a melamine type cover that looks very much like walnut in my case. Simply drill a hole in the 'wood' slightly smaller in diameter than any nail you use, or nail through the soundproofing that the slats are mounted to and avoid drilling altogether. Shouldn't be an issue either way. **Q: Does this block out sound from adjoining rooms?** A: This product may improve the sound proofing capabilities but I would not rely on it as a sole source of protection from noise.
