A well known supermarket was selling a standard mop head of these trees for about Β£10 recently. ... **Q: Would this tree grow in a semi shaded front garden.** A: Hi, it grows in two places in my garden, full sun and semi shade, they both grew well and about the same. **Q: What rootstock is this on?** A: Hi The root stock of a Flamingo willow is very large and the roots like to spread out if it is planted in the ground. The trees are very much the same as the Ordinary Willow Tree ,the branches won't hang over cos you can keep it to a certain size . I grow mine in a Large tub by my shed , as long as roots have room to spread it will be ok . If your growing a young flamingo willow tree It will be ok in a large tub for about 5 years then plant it in the ground . Plant with a mix of ordinary compost ,with a mix of Erichasus soil ,that how I did mine it grows very well .
