Sony WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless Bluetooth Noise Canceling Headphones - Silver (Renewed)

I bought this for my son in law as he recently lost his airpod. He specifically wanted this item and he was super satisfied with this. according to him, this has very long battery life and sound quality. He likes to wear this to the quite place like library and it has very strong noise cancelling effect. I think I should get one as well.

I don't feel comfortable wearing these unless I'm sitting upright and very still bc they seem to want to leap out of my ears at every opportunity. Because the fit is so god awful the sound quality they promise is just not there. Even when I jam them all the way in my ear it's nothing to write home about, just a really basic neutral sound, fine but not standout. The noise cancelling is even but isnt very robust even when dialed all the way up on the app. If you want to try using them while cycling or using them in a car with open windows, don't bother, because the wind sound you get drowns out literally everything else. Nothing seems to resolve that issue. I used to have the Sony linkbuds s and loved those. When those broke, these were supposed to be an upgrade, given the higher price and rave reviews. I'm unimpressed. The part of the earbud that sits outside the ear canal is MASSIVE and maybe these would be great for someone with giant ears with deep folds (?) but that's not me. For some reason Sony also decided to make them out of this smooth slippery plastic that makes them exceedingly difficult to actually remove from the case without picking at them a bit? With the way Sony designs their earbuds (where the weight is placed at the top of the bud so it nestles in your ear rather than hanging down like an air pod) makes it so they are rather top heavy and that just compounds the poor fit. Both sound quality and battery life were fine but not great so I'm not exactly sure what we're supposed to be getting for that massive size. They also have this annoying thing where they don't always sense that they are not in an ear and just keep playing music. Older Sony offerings are better and cheaper. The soft ear removable piece things are made of this stiff, cheap feeling foam stuff that feels a little like Styrofoam and seems to love to hold onto dirt even after you wash them. And trust me, based on how often these earbuds fall on the ground, you're gonna be washing those foam things a lot. Glad I managed to return these before one of them got lost permanently on one of their many attempts to flee from my ears.

Very high quality - arrived in like-new condition. Works seamlessly with Android, MS laptops and LG Smart TVs - can't comment on other brands since I'm not an Apple guy.

The sound is amazing. I’ve long been a fan of Sony sound quality, and absolutely zero complaints there. However these buds are probably not for someone with limitations in their hands. The earbuds are too smooth and slick and the bulbous yet angled shape is awkward to grasp. I have mostly normal hands except for my left thumb…and I knew instantly when I opened the case these would be a challenge. I carefully opened them over a soft surface on my table and sure enough I fumbled getting the left one out of the case and in my ear. I will try a few days to see if I can get used to it or find a work around, but I suspect I will need to return these. Not sure how to rate for this issue so 4/5??

HOW TO PAIR: - place earbuds in case - open the lid of the case - hold the button on the back of the case until your device recognizes WF-1000XM5 Seller: - great value for a refurbished product, earbuds appeared to be brand new - I paid $184 plus shipping from the seller "Electronics Basket" - quick shipping, arrived within 3 days Comparisons to the older WF-XM3 model: - sound and noise cancelling are similar, maybe a bit improved - the size of the case and earbuds is greatly reduced, which I find very convenient - case battery life is shorter - can be set up for location tracking if they get lost - able to connect to two devices at once. The feature has been pretty reliable, but occasionally autoplays media. I haven't found a way to disable that. Final thoughts: - one of my best purchases in a while - I like the look and convenience of the small size of these earbuds. Each bud is slightly bigger than a large thumbnail

Noise cancelling is terrible without a good fit and mediocre with. The sound quality in a quiet area is excellent while the noise cancelling worked well for anyone I called. Everyone could hear me clearly without hearing any street noise like sirens or honking. Sadly, I could hear all the street noise. Once I gave up on finding a snug fit and chose smaller earpieces these were comfortable for extensive periods of time. Would not recommend for commuting.

The noise reduction does not work great. The Sony earphones App. recommended larger ear pieces and told me to contact Sony for other sizes. However, Sony does not give support for renewed items apparently. So if you need great noise reduction, do not buy these. And if you need support from Sony, do not buy renewed.

I had some issues with my first pair I bought from them, because they stopped working after a month. Contacting the seller about my issue was easy, thankfully the seller was willing to replace them and even sent me a replacement before I had even shipped the original pair back. I would highly recommend buying from them.

Nach 4 Monaten linke Lautsprecher ist funktioniert nicht.

Package dispatched DHL tracked with no issues. Well protected within the packaging. Item itself was exactly as described in perfect condition no blemishes or issues. The earbuds are smaller than the old WF-1000XM4. So far very comfortable and light. Customisable equaliser options and voice assistance. Noise cancelling has always been my favourite feature of these buds and they give my BoseQC 35’s a good run for the money and are less bulky for the commute/gym etc.
