I’m new to crafting and I watched many videos on crafting with a Cricut. I bought Dollar Store clear contact paper because some videos said it works perfectly and it’s cheaper. Well, for almost two years I struggled with and finally quit. I was so frustrated. A couple of months ago, I ordered Frisco Premium Clear Transfer Paper with all intentions of starting back. Well flash forward to last week. My granddaughter was staying with me and we were going with her other cousin for a girls trip. She found these cute water bottles at Walmart and she wanted me to make for the trip. I struggled again for most of the day to the point were we both were going to give in. Then I saw the box on the shelf. We opened it up, cut out a piece, and it worked like a charm. The paper stuck to the stencil and my stencil came off the vinyl effortlessly. It transferred and the backing peeled off effortlessly. This paper it awesome. I was able to finish the others without any issues. I even reused the tape at least once more. Never again will I use cheap transfer tape.

I think I’ve found my new go to for transfer tape. It has worked on regular vinyl, chrome, holographic and shimmer permanent vinyl so far. I’ll try it on glitter vinyl over the next week to see if it has enough tack to lift it off the backing. Decent size roll but I think I’ll need to order another so I do t run out.

The positive is that it is pretty sticky and can remove vinyl after it's been cut with no problems. Doesn't take much burnishing whatever they call it, HOWEVER, when trying to transfer the vinyl onto another surface that's where the problem comes in. Depending on what kind of material you are sticking it on determines how easy/difficult it is to transfer. If I transfer onto a hard surface, it's easy to transfer, but if transferring it onto let's say canvas or a softer surface you literally can be sitting there for 30 minutes trying to get the vinyl to transfer off this sticky paper. The vinyl will lift with the transfer paper unless you're pressing down the very spot you are transferring and even then sometimes I have to go in and try to remove the vinyl with my little tools. There's not a perfect transfer paper is what I have figured out. One's either too sticky or not sticky enough. If you need to transfer to a hard surface, this is the one. If you're trying to transfer to softer materials, try a less sticky paper.

So far, this is my favorite transfer tape that I've been able to find. It has a glossy finish that makes it easy to squeegee, unlike matte finish transfer tape. It also has grid lines which help cut into section if you need to but my favorite part is that the grid lines are not on the sticky side, they are only on the paper. For me, this makes it easier to apply to decals quickly as I don't need to worry about lining up the image perfectly but others could see this as a downside if they want to use the grid lines to line up their graphic when applying so keep that in mind. It is on the thicker side with a good weight to it and doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. One small thing I wish didn't happen was that it unravels into a loose rolls as soon as you start using it. I don't think that has anything to do with the manufacturing though as I think it just happens because of the kind of material it is. It can be rather rigid and also since it's smooth it hasn't nothing to stick to so ends up being unraveled. Not a huge deal but something worth noting but I won't take any stars off for that. Not the cheapest transfer tape either but saves me a lot of time so I'll pay the higher price for it.

I have tried "official" transfer tapes. And it has been a super frustrating experience. I bought this tape with trepidation...I actually figured it wouldn't work great, but I had a lot of projects I was in the middle of so it was worth the risk. I. Am. Never. Going. Back. This stuff is FANTASTIC. Not only does it work amazing at clinging to the vinyl and then pulling away when I'm done, I can also reuse the same piece for a LONG time before I have to cut a new one. As an example, I'm a HS teacher and needed to number a bunch of desks and lab stations in my classrooms with numbers (random seating for midterm exams). I ended up having 50 different seats numbered, each one with a vinyl cut out. I only needed TWO pieces of transfer tape to do all 50 numbers. And the desks are super dirty, if I had cleaned everything I am willing to bed I could have done all 50 with one piece of tape. If you're on the fence, try it, it's so much less expensive but works SO MUCH BETTER than the Silhouette or Cricut brands!

This stuff is as good as they say it is. Works both ways; pulling vinyl after weeding and releasing it when applying. Solid purchase. 50'x12" for $17.00 is a nice value.

Just the right amount of tackiness to lift cardstock from the mat and easy to remove. For maintaining alignment, it's awesome !
