Good fit and easy to use. My dog came to love getting hers on on a night after her surgery, helped keep her calm while protecting her wounds. Good quality and cheaper to purchase here than through the vet’s surgery

Initially I was slightly skeptical as to whether the suit would be comfortable and easy to use. We tried the suit on a couple of times before it was needed to try to get her used to it but she wasn't very keen on it. However, I can safely say I was worrying for no reason. The vet put the suit on her after the operation and as she started her recovery she was perfextly happy. We unbuttoned the back rather than rolling it up we just fastened it to the side and tucked it under so she could toilet. One week on and she is still wearing the suit at night and to go outside to protect her wound. She is very happy to have the suit placed over her head and then we do paw for each leg. It is nice and stretchy so easy to get on and off. The quality is definitely better than I anticipated and washes well. It is a well thought through item with a pouch for a sanitary towel if needed, connectors for a collar and a stitched gap which can be opened for an IV line if required. Our pup is a 13mth old lab and at 23kg she is quite small and measured 58cm so we bought a M. Although there would be room for a wider dog it is pretty snug from top to tail but not too tight. I can wholeheartedly recommend this suit and would not contemplate trying to use a plastic cone again.

I don't often bother to write reviews but felt compelled to write about this product. It's brilliant! I had my dog spayed and she wouldn't leave the wound alone. My previous dogs have never bothered with their spay wound so much as this one! Had to wear the 'cone of shame' permanently, the minute it was removed she'd be straight round worrying the area. Despite my constant vigilance she got an infection in it and was back on antibiotics. To compound the problem my older dog hated her in it as she crashed and bashed about and I had to separate and watch them constantly. Tried making something similar from a Tshirt but she still managed to get at the wound! Then I spotted the Medical Pet Shirt....what a brilliant product! Really well designed, good quality material and poppers look as if they'll last. Easy to un-pop for toilet trips. Sizing chart was spot on (a medium fitted my female border collie perfectly) and two sets of poppers to make a further adjustment. Slightly looser underneath so air can still get at the wound to heal it. Only a couple of things I'd say; your dog has to be happy with you pulling it over it's head and lifting and putting legs through as it's a snug fit. My dog's very biddable so didn't mind. Also I still use the cone at night because I'm sure if she was determined enough without supervision she could chew through the material, although it's remarkable when she's wearing it she has shown no signs of bothering the area at all! Peace restored in the household, the bruises on the backs of my legs are disappearing (from being bashed with the cone!) my dog is so much happier AND the wound is healing fast! Just wish I'd had it from the start when she came back from the vet.

Used for when my springer spaniel was spade. It fit her well and nice and was light. Toileting was a bit challenging. Had to unpop it and tuck it in or popper it in different ways for her to go out for a wee. It seemed comfortable as she accepted wearing it absolutely fine and it washed and tumble dried well. Would definitely recommend

Customers should know that to a dog ( my springer spaniel to be honest) , these suits are highly addictive to wear. I got one for my Spaniel for after his operation as he’s fantastic at getting the cones off . The suit is a godsend . Apart from the fact that when he didn’t need to wear it anymore, he barked at it until I popped it back on …. He loved wearing it . I’ve now weaned him off wearing his gimp suit and I only allow him to wear it for Birthdays and Funerals ( and obviously for medical reasons should one arise ) … X

Brought this medical shirt because my 12 1/2 year old, 16kg miniature Labradoodle had to have an operation to remove a mass from his anal sac (pathology came back & it was a malignant tumour) I had given the shirt to the vet to put on him post surgery, when I picked him up, he didn’t have the shirt on, but a cone instead, they said the shirt wasn’t suitable because he could still get to the wound. Well we got him home & he just cried & hated the cone, he kept bumping into things, after 6 hours I removed the cone & put the medical shirt on, fits perfect! He loves it! He hasn’t once tried to touch the wound, i’ve not left him unsupervised except when we’re sleeping, but he sleeps in his bed in our bedroom & not once has he tried to touch the wound! He’s so much happier with this shirt, rather than the cone, I took him in for a post op check up & told the vet I had to take the cone off, we did buy another one on Amazon, which he preferred & I put that in him temporarily when we washed the shirt after a wee accident! And he didn’t mind that cone as much! It’s very easy to unbutton & roll up to allow for walks / toilet trips. So pleased I brought it!

Bought this in an emergency when it looked like my dog was going to need surgery on her bladder. Thankfully this hasn't now happened but I've been really pleased with the product all the same and will be keeping it for any future issues. It's good quality and would be perfect for any surgery on the belly, back or rear end. Do be aware that you have to undo the poppers when you let your dog out to the loo/take them for a walk but as you would be watching your dog at the time it's not in my view a problem. When my dog was spayed a year ago she went crazy with the cone of shame so I made her some tops which were successful but not anywhere near as good as this because she got good at nuzzling the tops up so she could reach her wound on her belly. With this it's all secure and even if she managed to undo a popper or two because it's fastened with a total of 8 poppers I think I would notice before she got too far. A word of warning however, measure your dog before buying and don't rely on the description of breeds. The description (which is provided by the medical pet shirt website and not Amazon) states that for a cocker spaniel (which is my dog) I should have purchased small +. My dog was at the vets at the time but I measured using her outdoor coat and realised that actually she would be better in a small. It does say right at the bottom that you should go down a size if between sizes but in my view this should be highlighted much more. Although it's a bit of a squeeze to get her legs in at first, the rest of the body is perfect and if I had bought a bigger size it would have been like a bin bag. It's also worth noting that this isn't going to work if your dog has had surgery on their tail or legs as it only covers the body. It is clear in the description but, as with the issue of having to undo the poppers to go to the loo, I've seen some bad reviews about this too.

Fairly pleased with this suit. Bought it for our girls spay. Knew she wouldn’t like the cone option. Shes 18kg’s about 52cm long (neck to top of tail), Labrador x cocker spaniel with a deep chest. The fit was great. But the dog cannot go to the toilet wearing it, so making very impractical when they have first had their spay. I didn’t want to pull her about and she was very sad those first few days, so not so functional. So we used the suit provided by the vet for the first week. The MPS suit is NOT tumble dry-able, making it inconvenient at this time of year. Her fur also poked through the material, which made me wonder how comfortable that would be for her (thinking of stubley legs and tights / stockings being not so nice a feeling, but could have been transferring my feelings…). It was handy to have as a spare to the vet one, which had a Zip down the back making it accessible and she could toilet wearing it. This is lightweight, so maybe good for summer spays / surgeries. We didn’t use this one as much as the one the vet provided (will also be hopefully leaving a review for that one).

Sitzt super und ist einfach zum anziehen! Der Stoff ist auch sehr weich, sodass er nirgends kratzt oder ähnliches! Die Verarbeitung ist auch gut :)

Parfait pour ma Teckel naine, entre 4,500kg et 4,700kg c'est super top ! J'avais commandé la taille en dessous mais c'était trop serrée au niveau du cou et de la poitrine. Ce n'est pas repris mais c'est parfaitement normal car une fois essayé pour du post opératoire, cela se comprend aisément, d'autant plus, si les gens ne sont pas capables de laver avant retour, et je pense que c'est, hélas, souvent le cas.

Ein Artikel, wenn er denn gebraucht wird, wichtig ist. Passte gut und erfüllte den Zweck. Selbst der Tierarzt hat ihn als Ersatz für seine Leihweste akzeptiert. Die hatte meine Aila zerfetzt.
