Review: Fabulous First Boots!!! - I know nothing about Hiking Boots - and in fact have never bought a pair until now. But these are amazing. Light-weight and comfortable (without any “biting” or rubbing). The design and colours are really quite cool and I’ve started to wear them around town even shopping. But most of all, they’re great on hiking walks. I’ve enjoyed them on several adventures already - including the famous Canadian Bruce Trail! The fabric is definitely moisture “resistant” and is staying quite clean. (Though I’ve made no effort to walk through a creek or puddle) All in all these are a terrific shoe and I’m happy I spent about 30% more for this quality of product. (I would normally wear a 10-10.5 but ordered the 11, which I’m pleased with, especially with my orthotics). IT’S NOW MANY WEEKS LATER… and wow, they’ve been so water repellant that they still look great. The suede seems to be excellent at handling the moisture I’ve throw at these boots. I’ve hiked extensively with them, including now in MOONSTONE Woods and I’m still delighted with this purchase. Just came in from a -9C walk with the dogs and to be honest, they were completely warm. I know they’re not winter boots but hmmmm…

Fabulous First Boots!!!

Comfort to match the good looks
Absolutely thrilled with these boots so far. Stiff in all the right spots, flexible in the other spots, plenty of great padding around the ankle and on the tongue. The suede texture looks really nice, hopefully it stays clean fairly easily. I applied a spray-on waterproofing agent, didn't change the color of the boots at all and helped further with keeping my feet happy. I didn't think textured suede would allow the water to bead up, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've had many articles of Columbia gear over the years, because they never disappoint, and I must say these boots might be my favorite Columbia purchase so far.
