CHI Steam Iron for Clothes with Vertical Steam Burst, 8" Retractable Cord

Outstanding iron that is intuitive and comfortable to use. While it is a bit pricier than lesser models, it is worth the extra cost. I also found it to be light, which was important for my elderly mother-in-law.

This is the greatest iron in the world! I wore out another leading brand of iron. It wouldn't get very hot anymore. This CHI iron will smooth out any wrinkle in 100% cotton sheets in a jiffy. It has cut my ironing time by 75%. Yes, I iron my sheets and starch them too. The only thing that's missing is if they were dried outside, then starched and ironed with this iron! Heaven!

I was tired of leaky irons, but this one does. not. leak! I love how the water opening is covered. Also when you select the heat on the dial, I love how you see the heat level on the handle. Most irons have that dial under the handle which makes it hard to read, but this one makes it easy by including a display and light on the handle.

This iron is fantastic. It heats up quickly, delivers powerful steam, and glides so smoothly that it makes ironing feel effortless. Honestly, I enjoy ironing now, which I never thought I’d say!The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the retractable cord — it’s a little janky and doesn’t always retract properly. If not for that, this would be a perfect 5-star iron.

So far love it, great steam power, love retractable cord and the light up dial. Ironed a heavy creased new duvet cover with ease. Generous cord length, easy to fill water tank. Not any heavier than 16yr old one. I do allot of sewing and this should be perfect.

I purchased this iron several months ago and while very expensive, this thing is the absolute WORST iron I have ever used. The mechanism used to open and close the water reservoir is massively overcomplicated, unintuitive, and difficult to use. More importantly, the heating element and heat controller on this iron are absolute trash. The soleplate heats extremely unevenly, causing the iron to stick aggressively to synthetic fabrics even when using the lowest heat setting. The heating mechanism on this iron is designed in such a way that it produces an extreme hot spot near the middle of the iron, while the edges of the soleplate remain almost cool to the touch. As a result, you are forced to use the lowest settings (synthetic or silk) for all fabrics or risk scorching your clothes, and as much of the soleplate remains unevenly heated, this thing spits water like there is no tomorrow and produces little steam. Just today I melted a hole through a pair of pants while using the lowest heat setting while the iron was in constant motion! The heating element cycles on and off unpredictably due to the iron's terrible temperature controls, making that hot spot on the soleplate a ticking time bomb for delicate fabrics. The poor temperature control and central hot spot is the reason that many reviewers complain about built-up on this model's soleplate: It's scorched crud from melted synthetic fabrics. I don't want to ruin more clothes, so I guess I have a $150 paperweight now. Thanks a lot CHI: I'm never touching any of your cheaply made, overpriced garbage from China ever again!

This iron is smooth like buttah. Steam is consistent and effective, making ironing a better experience and that's a big deal to me. Does a great job on all my clothes (haven't tried linen yet). Not sure if it's faster, but it provides quality.

Llego en excelentes condiciones. A mi me ha funcionado muy bien. Yo por lo regular plancho mucha mezclilla gruesa. Y con esta plancha no batallo nada. Es muy comoda y calienta lo necesario. La ropa delicada no la maltrata tampoco.

Good product. The cord is long enough and comfortable. A bit uncomfortable a safety feature: if not in touch turned off automatic in standing - in 30 minutes, in flat position- 1 minute, but this increases safety from fire and reasonable good. Makes sound when it achieved desired temperature. Has several types of spray water: direct , from the base and enhanced, like modern iron has several functions.
