These magnetic door catches are great !!! I bought a 90 pounder to keep my picket fence gate closed and when I installed it I found that it was too strong a pull to open the gate. So, I just ordered a 60 pounder. I would highly recommend them. They are easy to install and because they come in various strengths, the have a multitude of different uses.

My dogs figured out the sliding barn doors in our barndo very quickly. We didn't want to keep doors locked so we bought these. Very strong magenta, even our dogs that figure out EVERYTHING cannot get the doors open now! I was paranoid to have locked doors in case of a fire so this is the perfect solution. Easy to install and great price.

I bought these to keep a sliding door closed after our cat figured out how to open it on his own. Rather than using them in a traditional cabinet-door application, I mounted them at the top of the door and set them up so they would engage as the door slid shut. The good news is they ultimately solved the problem and are holding the door closed. The downside is that the included screws seem to have heads that protrude slightly too much. In my installation, the catch is actually holding because it's catching on the screw head rather than relying entirely on the magnetic force. Because of that, the operation isn't quite as smooth or clean as I expected. That said, I realize I'm using the product in a somewhat unconventional way, so this may not be an issue for everyone. The magnets themselves seem reasonably strong, the finish looks good, and installation was straightforward. If you're using these in a standard cabinet or door application, you'll probably be perfectly happy. If you're planning a custom installation like I did, you may want to pay close attention to screw placement and hardware clearance.

I have two crafty cats who love to open the door to their treat cupboard and rummage for vittles. I had two options: 1) completely re-tool my kitchen and move the treats up high, OR 2) try to secure the door in a way that's both functional and looks good. I chose the latter option. These units come with all the appropriate hardware. I could screw them directly into the wood of my cabinets without a countersink hole (which you may need if you have a laminate cover on your cabinetry). It took a little patience and a "measure twice - cut once" mentality to position these correctly. But once I had it measured, it was perfect. Of note - it would have been nice to have some sort of jig or cut-out to help make the positioning "idiot proof" but this was a quick enough job without it. Now for the entertaining part: were the magnets strong enough to completely prevent the cats from getting them open? No - not really... however, what they needed to REALLY get the door open was the "bounce". They can't open it on the first try, they wait for the bounce and then get their paws underneath on the second time... however - with the magnets installed, there was no bounce... just a confused feline looking puzzled as heck and wondering what wizardry was preventing them from getting at their treats!! If you have a similar problem - OR just want to keep cupboard doors closed - look no further!

These are strong. I rotated it 90 degrees to decrease the contact area and 3d printed an attachment to hold the screen door open. Works great.

More like 0.4kg pull force. Can remove latch plate with fingers. No tools or mechanical leverage needed. Garbage. Do not buy.
