YOUnique: An 8 week small group experience for middle school and high school students

Pro:I really love that there is a book for the middle school age group. Most books are either for young Children or older teens/college, so finding something for middle schoolers was great! The videos and quizzes made things fun and interactive. I can definitely tell the author is passionate and a lot of work and thinking was put into this book.Con:The only negative I found (which is kind of a REALLY BIG DEAL and the reason it lost 2 stars) is that there is no in-depth teachings from the bible included or bible stories associated in the chapters. The book is definitely Christian, it mentions God a lot, Gods purpose for them, and the book's purpose is to teach kids how unique God made them, but the most content from the ACTUAL bible included is maybe 4 bible verses per chapter.For example: in chapter 2 it talks about learning their love languages to help make better relationships with others. This is a great lesson for them but I wish it would've had examples of the different love languages from characters or stories from the bible (ie. quality time and acts of service: Mary and Martha when Jesus came to their house) or even maybe concluding the chapter explaining to them how much God loves them with examples from the bible of the different ways that he shows his love for them (ex: dying on the cross). I just wished it tied the lessons with the bible better and had more bible stories/teachings included.Update: We finished the book and it continually adds more biblical content. It's just the first 2 chapters that really lack.

Great material for junior high to high school kids. I am using this in my junior high Sunday school and will be using it in my girls' junior bible study. Workbook is great, the videos are interesting, and the tests are wonderful. After I registered online, the author personally called and said she would be praying for our group.

This has turned out to be a very cool study. I've enjoyed learning about the different aspects of my children's personality. It it's biblically sound so far (we still haven't finished it) and I appreciate how my kids are learning that God can use their unique personalities.I'm very pleased with this study and am thinking of using it for its intended purpose with my 7th/8th grade small group.

Great study! Video clips are excellent. Topics are handled well.

Currently the best lesson we’ve ever led for middle/high school Sunday school. Easy to lead, easy to follow and excellent content that truly makes our kids “think”. My own kids even discuss it at home with me during the week. So thankful I wandered upon the study. Don’t want it to ever end!

Great middle school curriculum!

Easy read for our teen small group study and they are really enjoying the topics. The interactive sessions keep them involved. Great conversations.
