Tested against ds18b20 and is very close. Perfect for my needs.
Great for the money. Does the job very well.I tested this against a ds18b20 temp sensor inside my reptile cage. The temp sensor is hooked up to the raspberry pi as well as a dimmer to make sure my reptile cage stays a constant temp. I needed this device to just double check things as well as use it for other projects. This device only varied by 0.05-0.2 degrees.Read the instructions. There is a recommended distance for holding the gun for different situations. The temps got up to 6 degrees off when I would hold it too close.If you need to be even more accurate then I recommend getting a more expensive model. But being within 0.5 degrees was good enough for me. I'm not using it for anything that requires precision.TL:DR; Tested and is within 0.5 or less degrees compared to ds18b20. Works perfectly as expected. No issues so far. I will update a month or two from now noting how the product has held up.

Great product at a great price
Great product at a great price. Have not done an extensive calibration but it does seem to give consistent readings that I assume are close to reality. One warning however, kids (at least mine) apparently like running around the house taking the temperature of everything (while making the "Predator" noise). If you are a very serious person don't show the kids what it does.

It's build quality is not great, but about what you'd expect for the price
This thermometer has a HUGE reading radius, it is difficult to get a precise reading even when the thermometer is very close to the object. It's build quality is not great, but about what you'd expect for the price.The only reason this got two stars instead of three is because the included 9V battery was broken.

Accurate and useful.
Appears to be accurate. The laser pointer is an excellent feature for seeing exactly what you're measuring. Good for brewing and cooking and also playing around with for measuring random things. Great value - would recommend.
