Perfection
I honestly understand the hype now. This product is extremely easy to use, it’s angled perfectly to decrease cuts, and it’s perfectly weighted so you wouldn’t need to apply much pressure. It comes with a stand, which is great for aesthetics, and a razor disposal bin, which is important to have in order to protect against potential injury. It also comes with a lot of razors that are pretty decent too. Overall, I can’t be happier with this purchase.

A bit agressive but great for detailing!
Great for detailing and super easy to get the right angle and use them right, but they are on the agressive side more than the medium side not a big deal if cork the Leaf blades 2 or 3 times before the first use or if you use "milder" blades such as Astra or Derby... If you have coarse or thick beard these are for you!!

Thorn: 5-star razor, 5-star value
I have tested a ton of razors, and the Thorn is hands-down my favorite for many reasons. This kit is also a great value with accessories that are actually worth the extra $20 you pay over the standalone razor. The Leaf and Supply razors were constantly popping up in my social media feeds, and I decided to give the Supply a try. Great customer service, but it didn't impress me. I bought a Leaf (the razor with the 1, 2, or 3 blade option) and found it was great but impossible to get under my nose. I then bought a Twig and found it to be surprisingly pleasant, but a bit too mild for daily use. Then I tried the Thorn. WOW! Though the Thorn only has .2mm more blade exposure, that makes a big difference. I would compare this to Level 4 on my Gillette adjustables. A nice medium shave that doesn't leave my skin cut or irritated. I would compare this to the type of shave I was comfortable with for years on my disposable Gillette Fusions. For anyone just getting into the safety razor world, you need to understand that this type of razor doesn't require the near-scrubbing pressure you need with a disposable. You use virtually no pressure and just let the razor do the work as you gently glide it across your skin. Avoid going against the grain until you have mastered the technique. Though you can save $20 and get the standalone razor, I highly recommend this Twig or Thorn kit because you're getting an extra 50 blades, a matching stand and a blade disposal tin. I rarely give five-star reviews, but this Thorn set is worthy. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.

a mild razor
"This razor won't irritate your skin like other razors do, but pressing on just one side while shaving is a big no-no. Because the blade isn't fully clamped at the very edges, you should avoid going across the grain using only one side of the razor—especially under your nose. Stick to even pressure, and you'll be all set. This razor is even milder than the Henson AL13."

Leaf twig is highly recommended for beginners
I've been using cartridge razors for years, but I've always wanted to try wet shaving, something to make shaving feel less like a chore. After some research, the Leaf Twig became my first safety razor. The Twig is incredibly easy to use. If you're used to cartridge razors, the learning curve is minimal. Thanks to its mild head design, it's very forgiving and reduces the risk of nicks or cuts, even when shaving from different angles. The small head also makes it easy to shave under the nose. DE blades are super affordable, and using half a blade makes it even more economical. That said, the included blades felt a bit dull to me. If you're using the Thorn, which is a bit more aggressive, this might not be an issue, but you can always swap in sharper blades of your choice. Highly recommended, especially for beginners. If you're more experienced, the Thorn might suit you better.

Best razor I’ve ever headshaved with.
This is my second Thorn I’ve ordered. I can honestly say this is the best razor I’ve ever shaved my head with. I even use it for the cleanup pass on my face. It’s extremely efficient without being overly aggressive. Love it enough to have ordered 2.

Pluses and Minuses
The Thorn single-blade razor is an attractive design - chrome, weighted handle, and a distinctive look. The price is very reasonable, and includes a razor stand. But how does it shave? I found that the Thorn requires shaving skills and attention similar to that of a DE razor. Do not go on the assumption that it is like a Gillette multiblade. The same care and technique is very much like using a DE razor. I had trouble getting a BBS shave - multiple passes were required (hence not high on the efficiency scale), and there was a bit of irritation and razor burn afterwards. Now I was comparing the shave to that from my Henson razor. I have the heavier, over $200 titanium razor, but Henson makes an aluminum version that’s similarly priced to the Thorn. The Hensons, IMHO, are engineering wonders. Never irritation, never nicks or weepers, BBS shaves every single time. I know the choice of razors and blades are very personal, even to the point of being idiosyncratic. I’ve had awful razors that I set aside after one shave. The Thorn is a keeper, for sure. Perhaps it’ll grow on me given time and practice.
