Stainless Steel Toe Kick Cover, 4" x 102" Baseboard Plate, Self Adhesive Kickplate for Bottom of Door, Kitchen Island, Cabinet, Cupboard (Brushed Nickel)

The base metal is stainless steel. This particular product has a brushed gold/brass finish. The finish is very thin but should resist basic contact and retain its brushed gold look. For me it worked great as trim on a vent hood. I’ve heard people say it doesn’t stick well, so that was a concern, so I conducted an experiment. I used contact adhesive on a board in one side, and nothing in the other. Then I peeled the protective red film from the adhesive on the back of the metal, and adhered both to the test board. The side which was just the plain board stuck, but I could quite easily pull that metal off after sticking it down and using force to press it firmly in place. On the contact adhesive side I attached the metal piece and again, used force to try to keep it in place. This side I could not pull off. It stuck VERY firmly. In fact, it’s rick solid. I’ve used this method on other materials with a sticky side previously, and know that it really, I mean REALLY adheres super solidly. The metal strips can be cut with a pair of metal shears. You can NOT use regular scissors on this, or a razor blade. You need real metal cutting shears. I also used a power disc sander to trim edges. In the whole, highly recommended.

Hard to cut

Love this I used as a backsplash in pantry and also as door kick you have to buy good aviation scissors in order to cut those people saying they can’t cut it with scissors that’s because you can’t. You have to have aviation metal cutting scissors to do it but if you have those then u can cut it it looks great once up and it sticks I was skeptical but it is super sticky and won’t budge once on

We ended up cutting this with an angle grinder because it’s so thick. It’s been up for a couple months now and it’s still sticking but just know you can’t cut this with scissors or razor knife or even 10 snips.

Adhesive doesn't work well. It's just barely too thick for finishing tacks. I wasn't able to secure it and it's really sharp on the edges. I got cut in the process, blood everywhere. Save yourself the time and agony, don't buy this.

Using this for an outdoor shed where squirrels are trying to chew through. Since this is outdoors, in full sun and weather I just want to comment on the product's quality/thickness. I had trouble cutting this even with some metal shears I have and ended up using a metal cutting wheel on my Dremel tool. I consider this a good thing. I had no expectation it would remain adhered to the door due to being exposed to weather and the door surface is not smooth and it does not do so but I can use some small bolts through the door to fix this. Again I don't count this. The finish of the product is nice and it did lay flat after unrolling it. The stated measurements are correct.

The video instructions says it can be cut with a scissors! We tried with two different pairs of scissors and a knife . Finally got it cut with a hacksaw. Very nice looking once inatalled

Great product and price. Quite easy to cut with tin snips after flattening as directed. Sticks veryn no issues in applyings. I upgraded my kitchen toekicks with this product and am very pleased with the result.

Excellent product! I was able to cover my Dishwasher base plate with this stainless steel base cover product and it is such an improvement to the basic black. Now it matches my Dishwasher finish. So pleased. One warning. The product is rolled tightly and can be somewhat dangerous when cutting the secured tape when opening the product. I suggest manufacturer put warning sign on tape. Otherwise, very pleased with this stainless steel kick plate cover.

Looks great. Fairly thick, bends with a press but extremely difficult to cut into a shorted base board/kickplate.

Great product but it is solid! You will need tin snips.
