It's difficult to keep the track clean for good electric conductivity inside, outside I would think it would be a full-time job trying to keep it clean and in good condition. I have a seven-track layout and that keeps me busy. **Q: Is this nickel silver track** A: YES I believe it is Nickel Silver because it is Non-Magnetic. The only Practical Metals that shine like that are Iron, Nickle, Tin and Silver (Zinc is Dull). IF it had Iron in it, owing to the Percentage, it would Definitely be Magnetic, but Nickel with a Silver Percentage, IS NOT, ok. Tin might be present in small amounts but is an Expensive metal owing to its Electronic Demand, so I doubt it. **Q: Is this plastic track** A: This is metal track on plastic sleepers.
