Fast, accurate and well built pulse oximeter
I purchased this pulse oximeter for use at work - I work for the ambulance service.First impressions were good, the device is well built and robust. It comes with a neoprene pouch and a lanyard to reduce the risk of loss.It is comfortable on the finger with a slightly rubberised texture inside. The spring is strong enough to keep the oximeter closed and securely on the finger without being at all uncomfortable. With both AAA batteries installed it is a comfortable weight. The measurements of the device are very accurate, you can see in my photo a comparison with a c£15,000 medical device used by ambulance services worldwide. This £15 pulse oximeter is just as accurate and takes the same amount of time to capture the initial reading and stabilise. The oximeter has a variable screen orientation - 4 in total - so with a press of the button you can view the readings from any angle, the screen is very clear and easy to read in any light. It also beeps with every heartbeat. As well as use at work I have used this device when running and at the gym and it has provided consistent and accurate results every time.I can recommend this device to anyone who wants to purchase a finger tip pulse oximeter. From certain medical equipment suppliers you can pay a lot of money for these, I made the mistake of purchasing a cheaper device a few years ago which promptly fell apart, this is built to a much higher standard.

Fab Oximeter for good price..
after being in hospital recently following a heart attack, i wanted a device to monitor my pulse rate and oxygen saturation in my blood, and after comparing several oximeters, i decided this one was the best, it has a clear display which can be rotated to suit, and best of all, it has a faint beep in rhythm to my pulse, I've found it's accuracy to be near spot on (compared to my doctors oximeter) it's nice and compact and does the job with accuracy, it's nice and light and looks good...

Can give false pulse rate which is easily detected.
This is undoubtedly a high quality instrument at a low price. Mine occassionally gets into a mode where it gives an erroneousy high pulse rate reading. Its so high its easy to detect its happened and its infrequent so I still think its a goid and useful device. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the O2 sat figure other than to say it gives normal readings for me that go up and down if I hyperventilate or restrict my breathing. I relied on a reviewer who was a medical professional and compared its accuracy to that of professional instruments. I use it as a non-subjective assessment for a friend who needs oxygen therapy at home to pursuade her she needs to use oxygen. The confusion she suffers after putting her oxygen asside for a while limits her own ability to judge her condition and need for supplementary oxygen. As anyone sensible will do, I would never rely on it to make judgements overriding or replacing those of a medical professional. Having said that, its interesting to see your own reading is good and know that it only reduces by a couple of % after exercise. It will be interesting to see the effects of a cold.

Fast delivery. Great product
I bought this for my father in law as he had a punctured lung and since deteriorated with his oxygen levels. He has been given oxygen to have at home to use in intervals and got anxious as he didn't know when he should come off it or on it and felt out of control as he would wait until last min until he couldn't breath to then call an ambulance and then be taken to hospital. With this little device he has a lot more control and feels comfortable and much more at ease and has been doing really well. It's been a life saver

A few minor issues
Overall it works well but it does have some minor issues. There is no settings memory so if you turn off the beeping the next time you use it it will be back on again. The orientation is changed by pressing the button and resets every time you turn it on. Would be nice to save the last setting or even better detect the orientation. If you press the buttons to turn off the sound it can get confused and sit there complaining it can’t get a reading and not power off and you have to remove the battery.Just use it on your right hand so you can read it and don’t change any settings and it works fine.

Very good product.
Bought this for my long term ill father. His health conditions require regular monitoring. This made him very happy. The machine starts up in about 1.5 seconds and displays a reading a second later. Accurate with his Omron blood pressure machine. Display is clear and easy to read that can be moved to a different reading position with the large purple button. It comes with a mini pouch and lanyard.
