Frey Bentos pies
Personally I love these pies. Pastry is crispy on top and softer underneath. Lots of flavour and enough for 2 people. Meat and gravy is so tasty.

USEFUL TO KEEP IN CUPBOARD FOR AN UNPLANNED MEAL
Enough for two. Useful to keep in cupboard (not a fridge) for an emergency meal. I feel it neeeds a bit more meat content, but cooked in a Air Fryer per instructions is tasty enough with sufficient gravy. For a quick, trouble-free meal, serve this with a green vegetable. Potatoes or Pasta not required.

Not bad
This was nice and beefy and savoury tastier than the chicken version, definitely had more meat in it but still not a meaty pie. The pastry was flaky only on top as the layers below were expectedly soggy, as expected it did have that tinned food vibe you know like when you open a can of meaty dog Food. I could buy a few and keep them in the cupboard for one of those days, perhaps not a thing I'd be longing for.

A Great Dish for Those Not Intimidated by Kidney
I enjoy this dish immensely. Okay, kidneys are sometimes iffy for some eaters, but certain offal is actually good. There may be some liver-like taste to the kidney, and overall I am not fond of liver. This I find much better. The pastry shell over this pie is flakey and tasty in good ways. To best open this "can" I recommend one of the OXO Good Grips can openers.

Great taste, especially the gravy.
This was my first Fray Bentos streak and kidney pie. The crust was fine, and the meat was sparse, but it tasted great. That gravy was so good that I took a spoon and spooned out what was left. Now, Iโve made steak and kidney pie myself in the past (last time was probably 20 years ago) and it was delicious, but if someone would tell me how to make the gravy taste like that it would not take two decades for me to try again!

Strangely different from the old pies. No puff.
I managed to buy a large box of Fray Bentos canned pies years ago during restricted meats from UK and they always puffed up high like a French Souflle way above edge with layers of crust. Had proper taste of kidney most avoid like lamb as gamey due to ignorance. The 1st I cooked came out flat here (pix) in a toaster oven on convection heat. Very little taste & no classic kidney flavor hoping for here. There was no 33% more meat label as shown on can ad. I just fear they succumbed to useless food engineering guys with PhDs that ruin classic formulas to shave pennies for profit and destroy famous brands. Instead of good product promotion companies resort to them and ruin great products. These useless nuts tried to mess with SPAM by adding potato starch but the public fought back and saved it. They ruined, by watering down Heath Bars with filler, which used to taste like a thicker version real toffee Skor bar now. Fire um all!! Hopefully I can post a better review if cooked in oven instead and puffs up high as normal.

Ex Patriots Necessity!
So happy that we can have this product shipped through Amazon as no longer legal to carry back in our suitcases. These are delicious and are perfect for Pacific NorthWest weather right now! They are a bit on the spendy side but it is so worth it! Thank you Amazon for helping to make this happen!

Memory is not always right where food is concerned.
I bought myself 2 tins of this Fray Bentos classic. I have eaten them. Result. I remembered enjoyed this meal in the 1970's while I was living in the UK. However eating one ( then two ) of these tins makes me realise how much food has improved since the 1970's and I shall not be buying them again.
