Plus I wanted something on which I can set down keys, glasses, phone, etc. I have a narrow space next to door. It's only 24 inches wide. This fits perfectly. It's not some fancy heavy duty piece of furniture. It assembles exactly like any other item made of particle board and is priced accordingly. It came with fairly clear instructions ( just diagrams ) and everything fit together just right. It might topple over with shoes inside so it comes with a bracket you can attach to wall. Easy. Now it's firmly planted and is exactly what I wanted.
