LEGO techniq is motorized also but alot more expensive (nor as flexible because threre aren't really starter kits). He still goes back to LEGO alot but this gets alot of use as well. The pieces can be a bit challenging to work with for younger kids but my son got his first Engino at kit at 4 years.
