Hello, is the guitar top heavy? This is easy to answer: YES, very much so, but you do get used to it,.sort of, anyway! The strap connections make up for it to an extent. It won't stay upright or in your lap, though, without the head hitting the floor, if you are not holding on to it. The great advantage of the cut of the body, however, let's you quickly and easily access the frets at the end of the neck. In my opinion this makes up totally for the balance problem. You would probably appreciate that also. Plus the short v-cut on the bottom of the body let's you rest the guitar on your leg perfectly when sitting down (as an option). Whew!
