**Q: Will it survive the dishwasher, with out corrosion or pitting?**
A: My previous one lasted over 10 years and I always put in the dishwasher. It did eventually pit but after all that time I did not think it was a big deal. If anything in this day and age lasts 10 years you got your monies worth. I still rate this the beat ice cream scoop ever!

**Q: What is it made out of?**
A: It's a metal. Ive had one for many years and love it but they aren't easy to find. The part that sticks out on the sides digs right into the ice cream. The new ones I recently purchased, to give as gifts cuz I like mine so much, aren't as sharp as mine but should still do the trick.

**Q: What is the type of metal used for the scoop?**
A: I'm not sure but mine has pitted.  I ONLY hand wash and have had it for several years.  That being said, I do think it scoops hard ice cream very well.  I still use it but if the pits get worse I will have to toss and replace.

**Q: Does it have antifreeze?**
A: This item is metal with a rubberized handle to facilitate grip. It does not contain any flowing liquid components such as antifreeze.
