Proscan V580 Car Diagnostic Scanner. Internet updateable via manufacturers web site This model includes OBD lookup for 30 vehicles and now includes live data readings. Requires no batteries and is built to last. The scanner works on OBD2 cars form the following dates: 2001 onwards for petrol cars and 2004 onwards for diesel cars. Currently it is not suitable for vans or commercial vehicles. This is a professional grade scanner offering unrivalled scanning and fault finding facilities. Detachable connecting lead should you need to replace it. Plugs into your PC via the USB lead provided for DTC and firmware updates. Happy with this product so far.
I was surprised that this unit has so much in it, I haven't fully used it's potential so can't comment on all of it. I am a Techy by trade but have been off my tools for a number of years. I have used it on a Vauxhall Corsa 54 plate to check and clear down a lambda fault. Did that fine. As with another of your customers I couldn't go into any update server, but then we are presently looking at EOBD 5 I think so can't see that there would be any need, as I doubt if there are any more updates on the earlier cars anyway. There are several to choose from and this wasn't too cheap and not too expensive either, good for what I need.Martyn.

Awesome
It does what it says on the tin, very happy really easy to use and clear faults/ read fault codes. It does a bunch of other stuff I have no idea what it means but I am sure to a mechanic or an avid car enthusiast they mean something, but looks very cool non the less. I would definitely recommend this product as it saved me £100 by doing it myself and not going to Ford's! I have not tried updating it yet, as I have an Apple Mac, and it probably won't work. I will be borrowing a windows PC and trying it very soon, I will update when I do.

Proscan v580
The scanner it self is not bad but I cannot get it to connect to the Internet I have registered it and email them on the address supplied but had no response. Looks like I won't be getting any backups any time soon.
