Review: Deep and vibrant colors! — Works very well for Easter eggs — Hints on use - These coloring agents are strong and highly saturated. Their consistency, somewhere between liquid and gel, makes dosing drops quite easy and repeatable. The lids on the little bottles close well, with a snap, reducing the chance these liquids will dry out over time. I bought these initially to paint Easter eggs, but the DIY-er I am I can think already of other uses such as coloring plastic castings. As for Easter eggs, it is best to gain some practice before the day. Suitable containers, not too small, not too big are a plus. I use the ones that came with a PAAS kit some years back. I start off placing ten drops inside a container, then add boiling water and two tablespoons of vinegar, stir it up, and add the hard-boiled egg. Make sure the water is as close to boiling as possible because that's the biggest determinant of painting speed. Doubling up on the containers adds insulation and helps keep the temperature higher throughout the process. Gentle stirring with a plastic spoon does well to even out the color. Drying the eggs without leaving marks is always a challenge. This year I used wax paper, gently moving the eggs around a bit to reduce the formation of marks. Another option is to use the carton the eggs came in. Summing up: a fine product from a pedigreed company, well packaged, the price is right, and works great for painting eggs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Ingredient list please?**
A: If you zoom in on the product picture, the ingredients are listed on each bottle, where it shows that the Red product contains FD&C Red-40 (not clear, but it is spelled out in the French list), which is what my youngest child is allergic to. Also, the other color ingredients clearly show each of them contains FD&C artificial colors. They may be Kosher, Vegan and Gluten Free, but they are not "natural".

**Q: do these contain Red40?**
A: YES!!! Which is why I got a refund from Amazon. They claim to be “all-natural, plant based, etc.” It’s simply not true. I don’t know why Amazon continues to allow them to be sold incorrectly labeled!

**Q: Do the colors stain the skin?**
A: I used the colors in bath bombs. Had no issues with staining of the hands or skin.

**Q: Will these mix with Vegetable oil?**
A: no.
