Remember those old dirt bikes, the simple little Bultacos, Hondas, Yamahas, Maicos, Pentons and Triumphs? The bikes young men rode on the dirt and into the ground. Well, if you're looking to relive those years - without the embarrassing falls - you need a bike. And before you go scrounging the web sites and swap meets, you need this book. The question: What to bring home? Among the thousands and thousands of dirt bikes, scramblers, trials bikes, play bikes and early motocross bikes; which is the best bike to make your own? Vintage Dirt Bikes will help you make that decision by providing information on all the most popular makes. For each bike, this new book provides four to six paragraphs describing the bike in general terms. In addition, author Doug Mitchel provides the highlights for each bike, and a rating system for: Available Examples, Parts Availability, Ease of Restoration, and Final Value. Vintage Dirt Bikes is 144 pages of information, including over 250 color photos, on the best of the best - information that can't be found in any other single source. Review: If you're just looking for a book with some nice pictures of nice bikes then it's great - nice ... - If you're just looking for a book with some nice pictures of nice bikes then it's great - nice glossy cover & pages. If you're looking for more than that then it's definitely lacking - no real advice on restoration, very arbitary scoring system with no monetary values (I know that is always changing but always upwards it would seem) & as a standard model guide then it's patchy. It shows a nice CZ400 Falta but it has a modified frame & non-original pipe. The descriptions of the model in question is very light & more suited to a school library book. Also, what vintage dirt bike book worthy of the name has nothing from Husqvarna, Suzuki TM / RM, Yamaha YZ, only one Honda & one little heard of Maico? There are plenty of beautifully restored vintage dirt bikes out there with willing owners wanting to show them off (quite rightly too) - it feels like the author has very little knowledge of the subject. Im glad I only paid £10 odds for it. Review: Awesome book! - If you love vintage dirt bikes you must have this book.

Great gift item for any vintage dirt bike fan.
My husband loved this book. We have several of the bikes pictured in the book. A great buy for 70’s vintage dirt bike fans.

The book reflects many of my own thoughts... having grown up about the same time.
Liked the research done to produce the book. Plenty of 1st hand experience as well as similar discoveries.
