For the current price point, if offers a significant specs and performance. This is my second purchase, the monitor is flawless. Brilliant colours, stunning performance and response rate. The so called downside of poor backlight and contrast (blacks appears grays in HDR) can easily be compensated by playing around settings and colours from monitor menu/companion app/GPU app. 200-250$ is a dream price compared to alternatives. Be careful with new model (AW2725DM) since it is not an upgrade, but falls short in many aspects. Build quality is perfect and design top notch!

The Alienware AW2724DM 27" QHD 180Hz monitor has done an amazing job. The picture quality is excellent at 1440p, and the colors have good detail. It does offer really good smoothness when gaming or working on lecture task. Motion is captured without any issues involving ghosting and the overclock works perfect without stress. Brightness levels are much stronger than expected for a QHD panel, and HDR support actually adds something to the system. Build quality is pretty classic for Alienware, clean, modern, and well built. The stand is sturdy and adjusts easily. I have one horizontal and one portrait. Con: the speaker volume leaves a little more to hope for but given my set up, I'm usually wearing headphones, so this is not really an issue for me. Great build overall and definitely left my brother jealous.

If you can get this monitor on sale like I did at 379.99$ CAD this monitor is totally worth it. The monitor is top quality and sturdy. Height, tilt and swivel adjustments are very nicely done and not as flimsy as on my older Samsung monitor. Screen colours are vibrant and refresh rate is great for gaming. I use the monitor as my main one in a two 27 inch setup, and use it for coding, gaming, office work and more. It is a well rounded monitor that does well in all areas, not just gaming. Some reviews mention that the text does not appear as clearly on screen but this has not been my experience at all. I'd whole heartedly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for an excellent 1440p display for gaming and all around use such as office work and programming.

I’ve had this monitor for a while and I can’t think of anything negative to say about it. The image is clear, text looks great, fairly bright, ability to control RGB power and rear lights either through the OSD or the Alienware app. Running desktop in HDR mode looks great. Decent viewing angles and a nice looking monitor. I suggest using the DisplayPort inputs whenever possible. That’s why it has 2 of those. It supports the higher (180 Hz) refresh rate as the HDMI 2.0 connection maxes out at 144 Hz. Windows shows the device as being able to support Adaptive Refresh Rate so you can turn that on. Also make sure you have the latest firmware (103) as it fixes some UI things and other small issues.
